Despite shipping just two titles in his career beginning 2017, Hong Kong poker professional Jeffrey Kuen Wai Lo or Jeffrey Lo has played consistently enough at a high level to reach 27th spot in the Hong Kong All Time Money List. Lo’s total earnings of $796,842 is a product of grit and near championship wins on the live felt.
Jeffrey Lo – Achievements
As a Hong Kong resident, Macau was the obvious origin for Jeffrey Lo’s poker journey. His first 8 tournaments were just a ferry-ride away to the “Las Vegas of Asia”. From September 2017 to March 2018, Lo participated in Macau tournaments with his best showing at the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Macau Poker Cup, finishing deep at the NLH Six Handed and the Bubble Rush Events for a combined cash of nearly $18,000. He then ventured abroad, first at the 2019 Aussie Millions Poker Championship, Melbourne then to South Korea. It was in the “Land of the Morning Calm” where Jeffrey Lo won the first of his twin titles, snatching the Superstack Event at the World Poker Tour Korea, Incheon.
In 2022, the Hong Kong pro began his regular participation at the World Series of Poker Series Las Vegas, poker’s biggest event since the 1970s. In June 2022, Jeffrey Lo persevered through 4 events before getting a final table finish at the Freezeout Event to bank a career best live cash of $ 266,559. This would give him momentum for a fruitful 2023 when he would bag his second title.
The first quarter of 2023, saw Jeffrey Lo finish runner-up at the Zen High Roller Event of the All Japan Poker Championship Samurai Circuit Taiwan, Taipei City. He also finished deep at the Single Day High Roller 8 Max of the same event, cashing a high of $ 27,844. Jeffrey Lo returned to Las Vegas at the 54th World Series of Poker 2023 and made 8 cashes with his best runs at the Freezeout, Monster Stack and LH 6-Handed Events combining for over a total cash of nearly $52,000. Then in August, came Lo’s second championship and maide
n title at the Asian Poker Tour Incheon, South Korea, bagging the Triple Draw Event. He added a bonus final table finish at the APT High Roller 8 Max Event to bump up his cash earnings with an extra $ 50,245. Jeffrey Lo capped the year with deep runs at the U Series of Poker Da Nang, most notably at the Superstar Challenge, finishing 7th with a prize money of $ 22,039.
Jeffrey Lo’s 2024 began with two bridesmaid finishes at the Asian Poker Tour Jeju, finishing runner-up at two events: the Turbo High Roller and APT Super High Roller Events. The latter however netted Lo his second-best career cash of $ 136,462. Lo was in the mix with Asian poker stars Eng Ewe, Malaysian million-dollar man and China’s #10 in the All Time Money list, Xixiang Luo. The Hong Kong pro continued his annual participation at the 55th World Series of Poker Las Vegas with only moderate success.
