WSOP 2026 - Moment of the Day - 30 June - Taped logos
WSOP 2026 – Moment of the Day – 30 June – Taped logos, taped logos everywhere!

Our Moment of the Day this time is more like an amusing compilation of taped logos on – well… On everything! Player clothes, backpacks, water bottles, you name it. One of our favorite poker-related content creators on Instagram, philthebeast_, delivered again. Let’s see what he’s found at the WSOP 2026 this time!

The Shift to Strict Broadcast Regulations

For years, the World Series of Poker maintained a relaxed stance on promotional patches, allowing a variety of logos due to the absence of major television coverage. However, the landscape shifted after the fierce marketing disputes surrounding ClubWPT Gold in 2025. With ESPN returning to broadcast the 2026 WSOP , Caesars Entertainment has implemented stricter television controls to protect the integrity of the broadcast.

To enforce this, organizers updated Section 52 of the official rulebook. Players must now submit all promotional clothing for formal approval at least 24 hours before playing at a featured TV table. Anyone refusing to remove unapproved gear faces immediate tournament disqualification.

Taped logos at the WSOP – looks like a funny trend

It is hard not to laugh out loud when you see how ridiculous these taped logos look at the tournament area. We are not against reasonable rules, of course, and players should follow pre-communicated rules of the approval process, but be honest – how much attention did you pay to your branded water bottle’s logo you’ve been using for years, when you are preparing for the largest poker event of the year?

Players have enough on their plate with ESTA, passports, accommodation, flights, WSOP 2026 tournament schedule, staking, etc. Whatever your opinion of these rules, there is not much we can do but comply, and these players learned it the hard way.

What is Now Banned?

What exactly falls under the new ban? The WSOP aims to protect its brand, partners, and legal compliance by strictly prohibiting the following categories:

  • Unregulated Gambling: Promotions for illegal or unregulated US gambling platforms, including offshore crypto sites like Phenom Poker and CoinPoker.
  • Controversial Material: Apparel featuring obscenities, extreme vulgarity, or pornographic content.
  • Harmful Products: Logos advertising tobacco, firearms, ammunition, or non-prescription drugs.
  • Deceptive Content: Misleading information, libelous material, or any unauthorized lotteries.
  • Intellectual Property: The unauthorized use of copyrighted trademarks, images, or text belonging to other companies.

Because offshore crypto platforms operate outside standard US regulations, their patches fall directly onto the banned list. Moving forward, professionals must now navigate these exceptionally strict new boundaries.

My journey in the world of poker (and later casino, sportsbetting) started more than 20 years ago, when I first attended a low-stakes live tournament. I’ve never looked back since, and have been active in several fields, including being a poker player, a live tournament director, writing online and offline articles about poker, and managing the localization of one of the world's largest online poker rooms. Poker is my home ground, I could never imagine doing a job that is not a part of it. I hope someday I’ll have more time to play live; that's something I've missed in the past few years. A game where luck meets skill - what would be more interesting?
