The 10K NLH Freezeout was the only WPT Philippines event that completed today and it was claimed by steady rising FilipinoDavid Erquiaga. Ten players have now been awarded at the festival with more games to be conquered.

The other event lighting up the floor was the 6 Max NLH which no doubt was the hottest ticket pulling in 80 runners to Okada Manila. Crawshaw delivered a bad beat to Lester Edoc to wrap up the night at ITM with 10 remaining. Read up on the results below.

In a matter of 8 hours, the 10K NLH Freezeout was decided. Shipping it was Filipino pro David Erquiaga adding another Php 178,088 to his winnings. Just yesterday, Erquiaga earned Php 130,000 for 3rd place at the Bounty event. Last year was a strong year for Erquiaga who reached the final table in several major Asian circuit events that included runner-up finishes at the APT Vietnam Championships Event and the PKC Taiwan Main Event.

First to claim a piece of the pot was Hyper Turbo champion Brett Kennedy (8th). Kennedy lost a large portion of his stack to Naoya Fujihisa when his Jd10d top pair on the flop was outdrawn by 6d7d on a board that completed Js8d9h5h4d. He fell shortly after.

Next out was Yosuke Shinjo (7th), then Erquiaga slid into the leader’s seat when he railed Doverklint (6th) with quad kings over nut flush. The five remaining players asked for an ICM breakdown but a deal wasn’t reached. Fujihisa jumped to a huge lead after doubling up through Erquiaga followed by claiming all of Viktor Zeitz’s chips.

Reagan Benico swung before dropping out in 4th place. Short stacked Jeffrey Sayen couldn’t get past 10 bbs and fell to Erquiaga. Heads up rushed in with Erquiaga ahead in the count. He commanded the action until Fujihasa doubled up with QcJc outdrawing Ah9h with a jack on the turn. Despite the boost, two hands later it was all over. Erquiaga pushed with 8d8h, Fujihasa called for his tournament life with Ks9d, the final board was Kh7h5h8c3s.
