World Poker Tour kicks off WPT Asia Swing in Vietnam with VN₫ 27 Billion guaranteed
Excitement is on the rise here in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with the first stop of Season XVIII World Poker Tour Asia-Pacific underway. WPT Vietnam opened on September 3 at Pro Poker Club and is scheduled to conclude on September 11. Hauling everyone in is the massive VN₫ 27 Billion (~US$ 1.1 Million) in guaranteed prizes highlighted by the Main Event and its very rich VN₫ 15 Billion (~US$ 644,500) guarantee.

WPT Asia Swing kicks off in Vietnam
WPT Vietnam is the first leg of the WPT Asia Swing which had its initial launch last season. Its success propelled its return. The Asia Swing comprises of three stops: WPT Vietnam, WPT Japan, and WPT Korea. This season, all stops take place in the month of September. WPT Vietnam set the ball rolling. It opened on September 3 with the Kickoff event guaranteeing VN₫ 4 Billion (US$ 172,000). That event is currently ongoing, we will have a complete story once a winner is crowned along with other early winners.
Main Event – VN₫ 15 Billion guarantee
Next up is the much-anticipated Main Event – VN₫ 15 Billion (~US$ 644,000) guarantee. Buy-in is VN₫ 55,000,000 (~US$ 2,400). This is the largest Main Event guarantee and Main Event buy-in presented by any brand that has set foot in Vietnam. Additionally, for the first time, players will be entitled to a structure reserved only for the main tour. It runs from September 6 to 11. Schedule below.

High Roller events
For all the heavyweights, there are two High Roller events guaranteed to draw you in. The first one is already running. It will wrap up tomorrow. Registration is still open. Buy-in for that event is VN₫ 107,000,000 (~US$ 4,600). This is the largest tournament buy-in of the festival.
During the latter part is the High Roller 2 event with a lower buy-in of VN₫ 77,000,000 (~US$ 3,300). This event is one not to be missed. It comes with a handsome VN₫ 8 Billion (~US$ 344,000) guarantee. Event runs from September 9 to 11 with two starting days to enter.
WPT Asia Swing leaderboard
At every WPT Asia Swing stop, players can earn points towards the Asia Swing leaderboard. At WPT Vietnam, points are awarded at the Kickoff, Main Event, and Pro Poker Club SuperStack Classic. At the conclusion of the Asia Swing, the top three players in points will be awarded special prizes to WPT India:
1st prize: WPT India 2019 High Roller Package – Includes buy-in worth IN₹ 10,000, airport and boat transfers, three (3) nights accommodation, and US$ 500 travel money paid at the event on the Deltin Royale, in Goa, India.
2nd prize: WPT India 2019 Main Event Package – Includes buy-in worth IN₹ 55,000, airport and boat transfers, three (3) nights accommodation, and US$ 500 travel money paid at the event on the Deltin Royale, in Goa, India.
3rd prize: WPT India 2019 Side Event Package – Includes buy-in worth IN₹ 35,000, airport and boat transfers, three (3) nights accommodation, and US$ 500 travel money paid at the event on the Deltin Royale, in Goa, India.
Other events
With the schedule filled to the brim, players have plenty to look forward to. In addition to the events mentioned above are games ranging from VN₫ 7,700,000 (~US$ 330) to VN₫ 52,500,000 (~US$ 2,300). The mixed bag includes, Turbo events, Bounty, Short Deck, Freezeout, and Pot Limit Omaha. Two events to also pen in are the Pro Poker Club SuperStack Classic and the Main Event Turbo Edition. These two events close the festival.

WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year
Another contest to keep in mind is the Season XVIII WPT Asia-Pacific Player of the Year title. The top three players in points accrued over the course of the season’s nine (9) stops will win very appealing prizes:
