Originally from the Lake District, UK, I’ve spent the last few years living and breathing the Southeast Asian poker circuit. Since 2025, I’ve been a fixture on the floor at the APT, PokerStars, and WSOP events, serving as a lead reporter and media specialist for Somuchpoker. My work is about more than just recording action; I manage the social media and digital content that brings action rail to the fans. By combining a business education and creative background, I aim to look past the technical hand histories to capture the actual human grit and drama that happens during a deep run.

It’s seemed like every day at Triton Jeju 2026 history has been made, and yesterday’s penultimate session was no different. The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju 2026 reached its Pot Limit Omaha climax on Tuesday, with two major titles decided in the tournament area at the Les A Casino . While the series has been dominated by No Limit Hold’em specialists for much of the month, the conclusion of the PLO schedule belonged to a high-stakes transition and a veteran finally ending a ten-year drought.

Austrian pro Matthias Eibinger secured the $100,000 PLO Main Event title, while Malaysian regular Chan Wai Leong captured his first-ever Triton trophy after a decade of competing on the circuit.

Eibinger Lands Second Career Main Event Title

Triton Jeju 2026: Matthias Eibinger captures the $100K PLO Main Event.

Eibinger’s conversion to the four-card game reached a new peak in Jeju. The 33-year-old Austrian, who only took up PLO professionally in December 2025, outlasted a 65-entry field to take home a $1,787,000 first prize. With the win, Eibinger becomes only the third player in history to win two Triton Main Events in different disciplines, following his 2023 NLH Main Event win in Monte Carlo.

The victory also earned Eibinger his second Jacob & Co Epic X Skeleton timepiece and his sixth career Triton title, pulling him neck-and-neck with Punnat Punsri for second place on the all-time list.

“I can’t believe it,” Eibinger said after the final hand. “The main motivation for playing PLO is that I want to compete, I want more titles. I started in December, first PLO tournament, first victory… and now I win the Main Event. It’s just unreal.”

Eibinger defeated British pro Richard Gryko heads-up to secure the win. Gryko, seeking his second PLO title, banked $1,270,000 for his runner-up finish.

Ten-Year Wait Ends for Chan Wai Leong

Triton Jeju 2026: Chan Wai Leong wins the $25,000 PLO event.

In the $25,000 PLO 6-Handed event, one of Triton’s original players finally found the winner’s circle. Chan Wai Leong, who made his tour debut in 2016 at the second-ever Triton event, ended a trophy drought that spanned 23 cashes and 14 final tables. Despite having over $12 million in previous Triton earnings, the title had eluded the Malaysian pro until Tuesday.

Chan dominated the 53-entry field, leading for the majority of the tournament before defeating Sean Rafael heads-up to secure $387,000. The victory was celebrated by a large rail of Malaysian supporters, including tour co-founder Paul Phua , who finished third in the same event.
