The White Horse Cup was the most expensive dish on the Poker Dream Manila menu with buy in at a staggering PHP 1,380,000 (~US$ 25,300). It was also the first event that the young brand tagged with a seven figure prize pool – PHP 55,000,000 (approx. 1 Million USD).
As expected, the field was tight and exclusive, a mini Triton of sorts. Among the fallen without any pay were Triple crown Triton champion Wai Kin Yong, WSOP Online bracelet winner Paul Teoh, and hot running Rene Van Krevelen who already crushed two Short Deck events at the series. Day 1 closed at the fall of Ewe Eng Siang on the bubble.
Entering the final day, six players returned with Winfred Yu in the driver’s seat backed by a massive 115 bb stack. After the fall of Ming Hong Teoh in 6th place to Danny Tang, businessman Phua raked in two big pots against Yu to steal the lead.

Heads up proceeded with Phua up nearly 3:1, 76 bb to 27 bb. Phua kept a tight grip on the lead until just before the first hour of heads up play. Yu shoved with , Phua called with , the board ran {, to send Yu back up top.
Ahead 52 bb to Phua’s 21 bb, the duo battled for another hour when the final hand was tabled. Phua shoved with , Yu called with . The board came for a set over two pair.
