People News: Holz vs. Malinowksi; Jon van Fleet joins ACR Team Pro and more
In this column we deliver you the latest and most interesting news and gossip from our favourite poker people.
Ryan Fee buys new car and needles Dnegs
Daniel Negreanu was very clear on social media and the DAT poker podcast that his loss of $1.2 million in the Grudge Match against Doug Polk is in the past. He immediately focussed on a new challenge which was online chess and now he is busy with the new heads-up challenge against Hellmuth.
Others will savour Daniel’s loss much longer as they had placed big bets on Doug Polk winning this battle. One of them openly taunting Daniel is Ryan Fee.
The problem with Lamborghini’s is that normally they are too expensive…

A sweet purchase with his winnings and a provoking “TYDNEGS” as the number plate.
Fedor Holz vs. Wiktor Malinowksi
Wiktor Malinowski is taking on the world, at least the high stakes poker world. He is still in the middle of his battle against Stefan “Stefan11222” Burakov where he got crushed in the first week. He now offered to play higher to make it more interesting and it looks like he’s gaining ground again in this heads-up battle.
Meanwhile, Fedor Holz accepted a challenge that Malinowksi offered on Joey Ingrams podcast a few months back, where Wiktor said “I can offer also playing drunk. I can drink a full bottle of wine and I can play Fedor heads up any stakes he wants. I’m not gonna back off. If he wants to accept, no problem.”
Fedor finally replied last week in a cheeky video accepting the offer.
Before Stefan takes all your money Wiktor @Iimitless2, let’s play. Zoom and drinks. pic.twitter.com/shStb8OEsa

Wiktor is definitely not shying away and confidently and seemingly slightly angrily replied in his own video tweet.
Hey @CrownUpGuy – where are you? I am waiting for you – pick your 2 best students and I play all 3 of you! #fedorlolz https://t.co/SQAAONgwbj pic.twitter.com/a2k3sznwVI

Fedor confirmed yesterday that the match is going ahead indeed. This should be fun.
On the 5th @Iimitless2 and I will play our first session. You will see cards and we will be on a zoom call 🔥this will be fun.

Jon van Fleet joins ACR Team Pro
America’s Card Room has been splashing some waves recently with interesting signings of pros. First and foremost Chris Moneymaker, of course. They also hired Randy “Nanonoko” Lew as a security consultant and now they announced the signing of their 10th pro ambassador.
Jon “apestyles” Van Fleet is the new team member. He is quite an old-school player with $16,921,359 in lifetime winnings over the past 15 years of his career. Because of this he calls himself “the grandfather of online poker.”
The interesting aspect for ACR will be that Fleet has started streaming recently and he already amassed 20k followers on Twitch. This will help get the word out about the poker network and eyeballs on their product.
It should be interesting to keep following the news to see who else will pop up in the ACR Pro team.
Lex Veldhuis celebrates 5 years on Twitch
Lex “RaSZi” Veldhuis has broken many records in his lifetime, many of them on Twitch. Now the entertaining Dutch streamer and poker legend is celebrating his 5th Twitch birthday.
Lex celebrates this anniversary with a highlight video that he reacts to at the same time. Definitely worth a watch. Happy anniversary, Lex!
