Massive Poker Action Awaits at Poker Dream Jeju – Opens Today!
The waiting time is over for an anniversary edition of the Poker Dream live poker tour in Asia. Today, September 26, 2024 Poker Dream Jeju 12 kicks off and completes one dozen stops for the up and coming operator. The destination is none other than the Landing Casino inside of Jeju Shinhwa World, the largest integrated resort on the island of South Korea with a lavish five star hotel.
Whether or not a new video of resident rapper Grant Gardner will be released during the festival remains to be seen, but there will be plenty of exciting things happening away from the poker tables. As far as the card sharks are concerned, they can look forward to a massive guarantee of KRW 2.8 Billion (∼USD $2 Million) for what shapes up to be one of the biggest Poker Dream Main Events in the history of the brand so far.
The flagship tournament on the schedule had the usual Main Event early bird package available with up to two free nights for the first 100 players to sign up for the promotion. High-stakes players could even take advantage of up to ten free nights of accommodation at the Marriott Hotel limited to the first 30 to confirm.
As usual, players have multiple starting days to pick from September 30 until October 4, with the three different buy-in levels available: KRW 1.2 Million (∼USD 875, 7.5% in the money), KRW 1.6 Million (∼USD 1,160, 10% in the money) and KRW 2.4 Million (∼USD 1,750, 15% in the money). All survivors advance to Day 2 on October 5 and the winner will then be crowned one day later when the festival concludes.
Several Mystery Bounty Events are available throughout the entire series sponsored by QQPoker and Korea Poker Cup where the chase for the golden envelope will enlighten the poker room with ecstasy. On September 28, the Mystery Big Bounty kicks off with four flights, three of which cost KRW 900,000 to enter (∼USD 660). The tournament comes with a guarantee of KRW 200 Million.

Several other lower stakes turbo and hyper turbo editions are scheduled for the following days thereafter.
On top of this latest craze in live poker, there are special events such as the Influencer Invitational, Ladies Event and satellites for those trying to win a seat for various tournaments at a bargain. Besides the vanilla No-Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha variants, players can also dabble into 2-7 Single and Triple Draw, Seven Card Stud, Short Deck Ante Only during the series as well.
All those wishing to compete at higher stakes to showcase their talents have plenty of opportunities available, too. The first three days include USD $10,000 and $15,000 buy-in tournaments followed by a two-day NLHE USD $30,000 on September 29 and 30. The Super High Roller Event #23 commences on October 1 and comes with a healthy price tag of KRW 10 Million (∼USD 7,328).
Last but not least, the Mystery Bounty format is also integrated for the high-stakes competition as well with Event #38 Mystery Bounty High Roller. The tournament comes with a price tag of KRW 5.5 Million (∼USD 4,031) and the late registration is open until the start of level 13, two levels into the final day of the event and the series on October 6.
Whether or not any of the participants will be hungover by then might be up for debate, as the Poker Dream Players Party is taking place the previous night from 11 pm until 2 am. One thing is for certain: Many participants from China and Malaysia are expected for this series and Jeju Island has also proven many a times that it tends to attract poker enthusiasts from nearby Japan as well. A total of 36 trophies are up for grabs from September 26 until October 4, 2024.
