German pros crush the Aria Super High Rollers events
Christoph Vogelsang Wins 2017 Super High Roller Bowl for $6 Million
Five days ago, 56 elite poker players took their seats at the prestigious Super High Roller Bowl held at Aria Casino & Resort in Las Vegas. This highly anticipated event sold out as quickly as it was announced back in February with pros from all over the world vying for one of the limited number of seats. With a hefty buy-in of US$300K and a prize pool amounting to an enormous US$16,800,000, there was no doubt that for the lucky players who made the lineup, this was the tournament they hungered to win.
As soon as the cards were in the air, it was anyone’s game. Every player on the roster was decorated with an impeccable record. Every player brought their own top of the line mixed bag of skills and tricks. But fallouts were inevitable and among them were several poker legends such as John Juanda, Erik Seidel, and Phil Helmuth.
Second Day
The second day saw another batch go bust, which included the German wonder Fedor Holz, but those stories would fade into the background because the day’s ending chip leader was none other than the smoking hot title-hunter Justin Bonomo who already bagged two wins earlier in the week.
But there was still a long way to go. By the time it reached the money round of seven players, Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, and past champions Brian Rast and Rainer Kempe were no longer in the lineup. Bonomo’s run for the hat trick would be denied, falling in 7th place.
The Final
The final heads up round saw USA’s Jake Schindler kick it off with a 2:1 chip advantage against Germany’s Christoph Vogelsang. With both players determined for the top prize, the battle would be long and grueling until Vogelsang finally found a way to shut the door on Schindler to ship in the enormous US$6,000,000 purse.

Fedor Holz reigns in two Super High Roller events
Despite missing the mark in the Super High Roller Bowl, Fedor Holz showed everyone exactly why he is one of the best of the best in the world. Holz won the Aria SHR 20 US$50,000 then followed it up the next day with another victory at a similar event, the Aria SHR 21 US$50,000. He earned over US$800K at the series.
