APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019 right around the corner
Ever since the Asian Poker Tour stormed into Ho Chi Minh City in January 2018, Vietnam has become one of its prime destinations. To date, the tour has held four events in the bustling city with a fifth just around the corner.
Coming July 3 to 14, suit up for APT Vietnam Ho Chi Minh 2019. Once again, the festival takes place at the country’s most popular poker venue, the Pro Poker Club. Over the course of twelve days, 25 events are lined up and VND 14 Billion (~US$ 600,000) in guaranteed prize pools. Events to mark down are the Main Event, Championships Event, and the seven High Rollers. As of the tour’s recently concluded Seoul, Korea series, the Shot Clock will be implemented on all events and of course the Ante Big Blind format.

Guaranteed Events
The stars of the series are the Main Event and the Championships Event. These are the tour’s top of the line tournaments and are praised by many as having the best structure in Asia. The events run back-to-back and both are equipped with a hefty guarantee.
Main Event – VND 8 Billion guarantee
The Main Event gets on the floor first. This event never fails to draw the largest numbers. During the inaugural visit, it set a tour record of 664 entries. Due to this, there are three starting days scheduled at every Vietnam stop. The Main Event runs from July 4 to 9. It comes with a VND 8 Billion (~US$ 343,000) guarantee. Buy-in is VND 22,000,000 (~US$ 950). Schedule below:

Championships Event – VND 6 Billion guarantee
The Championships Event picks up right when the Main Event concludes. It takes place from July 10 to 14. Due to its higher buy-in of VND 38,500,000 (~US$ 1,700), it tends to attract a tighter field of heavyweight pros. The event offers a VND 6 Billion (~US$ 257,000) guarantee. On the tour’s previous visit, ex-Starcraft pro Lim Yohwan aka Boxer captured his second APT Championships Event title. Schedule breakdown:

High Rollers events
This year the tour has been bumping up the number of High Rollers events in their roster. For this series, there are seven to look forward to with buy-ins ranging from VND 40,000,000 (~US$ 1,700) to VND 107,500,000 (~US$ 4,600).
High Rollers #1: VND 54,000,000 buy-in – July 3 to 4
High Rollers Single Day #1: VND 43,000,000 buy-in – July 7
Super High Rollers: VND 107,500,000 – July 8 to 9
High Rollers Single Day #2: VND 43,000,000 buy-in – July 9
High Rollers Single Day #3: VND 43,000,000 buy-in – July 12
High Rollers #2: VND 65,000,000 buy-in – July 13 to 14
High Rollers Single Day #4: VND 40,000,000 buy-in (free rake) – July 14
Other events
The rest of the lineup consists of popular events such as NLH, Turbos, Pot Limit Omaha, Short Deck, and there are two Monster Stack events offered. Side event buy-ins range from VND 5,500,000 (~US$ 240) to VND 11,000,000 (~US$ 480).
APT returns to Vietnam in November
Before the close of the calendar year, the APT will host one more festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This event was announced one week ago. It will take place from November 6 to 17 at Pro Poker Club. Expect another action packed 12-day schedule and massive prize pools attached. The Main Event buy-in is VND 22,000,000 and the Championships Event buy-in is VND 38,500,000.
