APPT Cambodia: Andy Li overcomes grueling heads up at APPT National; Wei Guo Liang, Yinfei Xiao win trophies; Mystery Bounty Day 1B and SHR results
After five days of pre-games, the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) awarded its first PokerStars Shard trophy to Andy Li for his triumph at the APPT National. In other news, two players from China closed out events, the highly decorated We Guo Liang won the Mini High Roller and Yifei Xiao bagged the Short Deck. Over at the Mystery Bounty, Day 1B wrapped up with 27 out 174 headed for the final day, and at the Super High Roller, 8 remained at the end of regulation. Scroll down for all of the Day 6 results.

Andy Li overcomes a grueling heads up to win APPT National
It was a thrilling finale at the APPT National as Singapore’s Andy Li and Korea’s Minwoo Kang battled for the title and the trophy. The two players exchanged the chip lead several times, and each survived multiple all-in situations. After twelve tense showdowns, Li finally emerged victorious to claim the PokerStars Shard Trophy and an ICM deal payout of US$ 36,687. For runner up Kang, he pocketed US$ 33,199.
“I’ve never been all in twelve times heads up, and in the end it was pure luck because we both had only 5 big blinds each. This is my first win since 2017 so it feels good. When it was down to three-handed, I had very good position over the two aggressive players, if I was in between them, it would have handcuffed me. I also know the person to my right, this was his first tournament. He is a cash game player so there was a lot of opportunity for me to steal, that helped a lot as well.”

The APPT National drew 314 entries over three starting flights to more than double up the advertised US$ 100K guarantee. 47 players advanced to the Final Day, each one guaranteed a piece of the US$ 219,298 prize pool. Defending champion Seongmin Lee had a good run but was ultimately stopped by Eric Wasylenko in 31st place. Russia’s Evgenii Katymaev missed the final table, falling in 9th place to WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer who went on to finish in 4th place.

Wei Guo Liang dominates Mini HR final table
Coming off a win in Beijing, two time WSOP bracelet winner Wei Guo Liang came from behind at the APPT Cambodia Mini High Roller to become the fourth player from China to win at the festival. Wei earned US$ 35,498 and his first ever PokerStars Spade trophy.
“Absolutely very happy to win this event. This win is different from my previous wins because for the first time, I am representing CIPT (Chinese International Poker Team) and to show how strong Chinese players are in poker. I did have luck and cards on my side too. When I was down to around 20 bb, I doubled up with pocket Queens against pocket Eights. Several hands after, I won another double up with Ace-King trips aces against the chip leader’s pocket Queens.”
The Mini High Roller event was a two-day affair that attracted 68 runners for a prize pool of US$ 121,366. Day 1 bagged up at the final 9 which was the start of ITM. On the final day, among the returnees was hot running Australian John Perry who was stopped in 5th place. After a fast two hours of play, Wei was the overwhelming big stack against USA’s Jin Woo Kim. Yinfe Xiao wins the Short Deck Event
Nearly a misread at the Short Deck event where massive stacked Yinfei Xiao holding 
against Lev Kydatov’s 
saw a final board 
. Kydatov’s two pair seemed the winner but upon closer look, Xiao had the bottom straight to ship it. Xiao outlasted the event’s 29-entry field to lift the PokerStars Spade trophy and a payout deal of US$ 2,290.

Super High Roller – Update
The Super High Roller saw 22 cough up the US$ 10,000 buy in for a prize pool of US$ 206,998. Only 8 remained at the end of the scheduled 13 rounds. When they return, the finalists will chase down a spot in the money round and the eventual title which comes with a US$ 86,939 payout. Leading the race is Indonesia’s Jhon Hendri with 108 bb.

The Mystery Bounty completed its final flight to bring up the entries to 243 for a prize pool of US$ 116,677. A total of 38 players advanced to the final day led by Day 1B chip leader Bin Zhang with China’s Bin Zhang as chip leader. When they return to action, not only will they be gunning for the winner’s purse, but also the US$ 7,700 top Mystery Bounty prize.
