Metro Walk To A Million ₱5M Guaranteed Full Schedule Released

 

More poker action taking place in the Philippines this month with the Metro Card Club having recently released the full schedule for its upcoming Metro Walk To A Million (MWAM) festival. Kicking off on June 17, 2024 with a two-day MWAM Pre-Event, the MWAM headliner gets underway on June 19, 2024 and runs until June 24, 2024 featuring a ₱5,000,000 (~$86,650) prize pool guarantee. The event takes place in the busting Manila metropolis.

For those just hearing of this event, the Metro Walk To A Million (MWAM) is one of the Metro Card Club’s annual homegrown events. Starting off with a ₱1.5M guarantee in 2019, the event’s tremendous popularity witnessed the prize pool reach ₱5.3 Million (~$95K) in 2023. With record-breaking numbers seen at other Metro festivals this year, the 2024 MWAM is expected to do the same. 

The MWAM is a low-tiered tournament with buy in of ₱5,500 (~$94). Players have ample chances at qualifying into the money round with six entry flights scheduled. Each flight plays down to ITM of 14% of the field. Check the schedule below for all the details.

Now in its fourth installment, the Metro Walk To A Million (MWAM)  was first introduced in June 2019 then resumed after the pandemic in 2022 and 2023. Each year the prize pool guarantee was increased and each time it was breached. The inaugural champion was local player Mark Amparo, followed by local player Jason Kyle Magbanua in 2022, then local player John Oliver Tapel in 2023.

MWAM Pre-Event and Side Events

As mentioned above, the festival opens on June 17 with a two-day Pre-Event. The tournament features a ₱500,000 (~$8,500) guarantee which is already a record prize pool for this event. Buy in is ₱4,000 (~$68).
