Manila Poker Cup debuts in twelve days, PHP 32 Million (~USD 566K) in guarantees in store
With tournament poker across the Asia Pacific region continuously on the rise, a new brand is ready to make its grand entrance and attempt to reach new heights beginning in the city of Metro Manila, Philippines. The Manila Poker Cup in partnership with Lucky Poker Tour, is gearing up to make a bold statement this September 4-10, 2024, with a generous PHP 32,000,000 (~USD 566,630) festival prize pool in tow.
The upcoming series, focused on making a grand entrance at Newport World Resorts, Pasay, hosts a full lineup of eighteen trophy tournaments with buy-ins ranging from PHP 8,800 (~USD 155) – PHP 150,000 (~USD 2,650), headlined by a PHP 20,000,000 (~USD 354,145) guaranteed MPC Main Event.
“Newport World Resorts, formerly Resorts World, have deployed new management teams dedicated to better serve local and international players. To promote this, a new tournament brand has been launched and will be held in the country’s first integrated resort this September.”, stated by the organizers.
Manila Poker Cup 2024 Main Event
The headlining PHP 40,000 (~USD 700) buy-in MPC Main Event stands to be the series’ crown jewel with its PHP 20,000,000 (~USD 354,145) listed guarantee, roughly a third of the festival pot. That just means the anticipated games are expected to welcome at least 556 runners across its Main Event arena in order to break the guarantee.
Action kicks off right on Thursday, September 5th, running five flights in total through the weekend. All entries buy players a starting stack of 30,000 to course through forty minute blind levels (20 minutes for Turbo) down to Day 2, where another twelve levels of fifty minute blinds will commence. With registration for all starting heats open through the first nine levels, players eager to make the cut at 15% of the field are allowed an unlimited number of re-entries per flight.
Additionally, those who find the buy-in costs a bit too steep can lock in Main Event seats for as low as PHP 5,500 (~USD 97), with daily satellites available on schedule through Saturday, September 7th.
