Day 3 of the WPT Korea 2024 Championship Event welcomed 45 runners back on the felt and saw several players fall out of the running by the first hour. Stacks continuously swung back and forth with only half the field remaining by midday. It took nearly seven hours of play before the field dwindled down to its final two tables with China’s Ding Yayun holding down the top spot for majority of the past levels. Asian crusher Fang Po Wen however, catapulted to the top after spiking a set with JdJs against Qi Xuming’s QhQc to knock the latter out in 12th place. Fang then carried on to deliver another elimination with Luo Jianming on the losing end of a blind vs blind confrontation. The two battled on a board of 3d3s9cQs5d with Fang landing a full house by the river with 3c5s against Luo’s 3h8d to scoop up the massive pot. The aggressive Chinese runner continued to chip up, overtaking Ding by the final hour to lock in the lead with a mighty 12,350,000 (61 BB). Second in the running, Ding Yayun is right on his tail with 12,175,000 (60 BB), followed by Dai Linghui with 6,025,000 (30 BB). All returning players are now guaranteed a KRW 43,500,000 payout and a fighting chance to bag the WPT Korea Main Event title.
