Qi Li - Championship Warm Up Champion

After just five hours of Final Day play, Qi Li was crowned the Championship Warm Up champion at WPT Cambodia 2026. He walked away with the WPT Cambodia trophy, $54,772 in prize money, and a $1,100 seat to the WPT Prime Championship, closing out a fast-paced and action-packed finale.

After four days of competition and a massive field of 472 entries, the Championship Warm Up reached its conclusion with just six players returning for the Final Day. With the trophy, top prize, and valuable WPT Prime seat on the line, the remaining contenders wasted little time turning up the pressure.

Vannarith Nget - 6th Place

Action moved quickly from the opening hand, with chips constantly in motion and aggression setting the tone across the table. Yonghong Si immediately made his presence felt, pushing the pace and reclaiming the chip lead after briefly slipping earlier in the day. The first casualty of the Final Day was Vannarith Nget, who exited in 6th place after getting his pocket deuces all in against Somphone Ung’s ace-ten. An ace-heavy flop sealed his fate, reducing the field to five.

Play continued at a fast clip, and the next elimination followed soon after. Mykyta Ishchenko bowed out in 5th place for $12,609 after flopping two pair, only to see Somphone Ung river a higher two pair to end his run. With four players remaining, momentum continued to swing as Abhishek Ramesh found a crucial double-up to stay alive.

That calm was short-lived. Somphone Ung’s tournament came to an end in 4th place for $16,416 when his ace-nine failed to improve against Ramesh’s pocket nines. Three-handed play soon became the Yonghong Si show, as he surged past the competition and crossed the 10-million-chip mark, highlighted by a dramatic rivered full house that stunned the table.

Ramesh’s impressive run ended in 3rd place for $21,880 after another clash with Si. This time, Si connected on the flop and never relinquished control, setting up a heads-up showdown between two Chinese players.

Heads Up

Heads-up play began with Yonghong Si holding the advantage over Qi Li, but the momentum shifted in a single pivotal hand. Li called off his tournament life with ace-ten against Si’s pocket fives and surged into the lead after flopping top two pair.

The very next hand brought the tournament to a close. Si shoved the flop with middle pair, but Li snap-called with top pair and held through the turn and river to eliminate Si in 2nd place for $33,624.

Championship Warm Up Set For Final Showdown As Final Six Return Today

The stage is set for an epic conclusion at WPT Cambodia 2026, as the Championship Warm Up heads into its final day with just six players still standing. From a massive field of 472 total entries across three starting flights, only a handful remain in contention for the honor of lifting the brand-new WPT Cambodia Trophy.

The $600 buy-in Championship Warm Up carried a $150,000 guarantee and drew a strong turnout, ultimately generating a $247,234 prize pool, nearly doubling the posted guarantee. After the opening flights wrapped up, 96 players returned for Day 2, all chasing a deep run, a major payday, and a shot at the title.

Only 55 players reached the money, securing at least $1,187, but once the bubble burst, the pace intensified rapidly. A♠ eliminations piled up, attention shifted squarely toward the top prizes, with a $54,772 first-place payout and the coveted WPT trophy awaiting the eventual champion.

Leading the final six is Qi Li, who emerged as the chip leader following a fearless late-session performance. Li made one of the defining plays of the day, moving all-in on the turn to apply maximum pressure on Mykyta Ishchenko after a massive 1,300,000 bet. He then closed out Day 2 in dramatic fashion by delivering the final knockout of the night, eliminating Kaoru Kishimoto in 7th place, as Kishimoto’s pocket fives ran into Li’s pocket eights.
