The $1,000 buy-in event carried a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool and ultimately generated $231,345, with mystery bounties adding an extra layer of pressure and excitement as the tournament progressed. Day 2 resumed with 34 players remaining, all already in the money and eager to chase both payouts and hidden bounties as the field played down to a champion.

From the outset, Bao positioned himself as a major threat, combining timely aggression with well-chosen spots to steadily build his stack. Once bounties came into play, the tournament turned volatile, with rapid eliminations, dramatic flips, and multiple three-way all-ins shaping the march toward the final table. During the ensuing break, Bao further boosted his haul by drawing the second-biggest mystery bounty worth $10,000, along with an additional $1,000, strengthening his grip on the tournament as heads-up play approached.

Heads-up action began with Bao holding a massive chip advantage over Kevin Ewald, though Ewald mounted a brief comeback with a series of well-timed double-ups to narrow the gap. After more than seven hours of play, the Mystery Bounty found its champion, none other than Vietnamese pro Pham Bao.

Bao took home the new WPT Cambodia trophy, a $1,100 seat to the WPT Prime Championship in Las Vegas, the $34,995 top prize, and 11 bounties worth $20,500, bringing his total haul to $55,495.

Mystery Bounty Day 2 Kicks Off at WPT Cambodia 2026

WPT Cambodia New Trophy

The Mystery Bounty event at WPT Cambodia 2026 reaches its decisive stage today as Day 2 gets underway, with bounties officially in play and the field set to play down to a champion.

The tournament features a $1,000 buy-in and a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, ultimately generating a total prize pool of $231,345 from 265 entries across two starting flights. After two intense opening days, 34 players advanced to Day 2, with every remaining contender already guaranteed a payout.

Leading the charge is Pham Bao, the overall chip leader with 872,000, following a dominant Day 1A performance that included back-to-back eliminations near the bubble and a memorable hand where he flopped quad sixes. Close behind is Wei Yan, who topped the Day 1B field after bagging 643,000, giving both players a significant advantage as the bounty phase begins.

Defending champion Erik Rozhynskyi also advanced after failing to bag on Day 1A. Rozhynskyi bagged 276,000 and is one to watch heading into Day 2, having the experience and confidence after winning back-to-back Mystery Bounty titles at last year’s WPT Cambodia.

At stake is a top prize of $34,995, along with a $1,100 seat to the WPT Prime Championship Las Vegas. Adding to the excitement is the tournament’s largest mystery bounty of $12,500, ensuring fireworks as the short stacks and big stacks collide.

Day 2 resumes with 40-minute blind levels and will continue until a champion is crowned.
