The final starting flight of the WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship is officially in the books, capping off a thrilling launch for one of Asia’s most anticipated poker debuts. Day 1D drew a final 551 entries, pushing the total field to 2,337 and the total travel fund to a jaw-dropping THB 75,487,659 (~USD 2.3M), smashing its guarantee by double in value.
After another round of 20 fast-paced levels, 69 players outlasted the last turbo heat to secure a seat into Day 2, all guaranteed a portion of the sweltering prize pool. Among the top performers of the flight was China's Junjie Wang, who closed the night with a towering stack of 1,250,000 (63 BB), joining the top ranks across the Day 2 order. Fellow countrymen Jinhui Xiao (845,000) and Wei Cai (795,000) rounded out the top three for the qualifier, well-armed and ready for the next stage.
With all four flights now concluded, 293 players are deemed to return to UOB LIVE for Day 2 as the real battle for Thailand’s first-ever WPT title begins. Action will recommence at 6:00 PM, with players set to grind through fifteen 20-minute levels, bagging just before the clock hits midnight.

Kieu Huy Cong Bubbles Day 1D
Down to his last big blind, Kieu Huy Cong flicked in his 3,000 behind and found himself at risk right on the money bubble, up against button raiser Chih Wei Chen.
Cong was well ahead and on the verge of a crucial double up as the board ran out 7♠ 7♦ 3♣ T♦ until the river J♥ gave Chen two pair to snatch the pot at the very last second.
With Cong's elimination, the bubble officially burst, and the 69 remaining players secured their Day 2 seats, each now guaranteed a slice of the THB 75.5M (~USD 2.3M) total travel fund.

Day 1D Registration Closes at 551 Entries

The final flight Day 1D has officially closed registration at 551 entries, bringing the total field size to a staggering 2,337 entries across all four starting heats. That’s more than double the original guarantee, with the prize pool soaring to THB 75,487,659 (~USD 2.3M), marking a monumental debut for WPT in Thailand.
From today’s final flight, just 69 players will bag up and move on to Day 2, where the chase for Thailand’s first WPT Prime title continues.
Last Chance to Qualify!

With the THB 37,000,000 (~USD 1.1M) WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition Championship guarantee already smashed, the action continues at full throttle here at UOB LIVE, Emsphere, Bangkok, as the last starting heat gets underway.
A four-figure field is already in motion, with Day 1A and 1B pulling up a total of 1,188 entries, shaping up a monumental debut for this landmark WPT event in Thailand. Today marks a double flight day, with Day 1C already in play, followed by the final flight on schedule, Day 1D at 4:00 PM, giving players a final chance to secure a coveted Day 2 seat.
Each flight follows a turbo structure with 20-minute blind levels and will play down to 12.5% of the field, meaning all who survive today will bag in the money. With momentum building and entries piling in, the road to the country's first WPT champion is getting more exciting by the minute.
Registration will remain open through Level 10 @7:20 PM. Stay tuned as SMP brings you live updates, key hands, and all the big moments straight from the tournament floor!
