Big stacked Kiyoung Kim drives the betting to 2500 and gets called by Adrian Garcia and small blind Arun Sriram. At the flop 5♠ 7♦ A♣ , Kim continues for another 2500 and both opponents stick around for the turn T♣ . Following two checks, cutoff Garcia bets 12,000 and it's enough to claim the pot.

Carlos Javier Hidalgo raises to 1,300 and Dongkyu Kim calls in the next seat. Arun Sriram then squeezes to 8,500 and Hidalgo tank-calls, Kim also comes along. Sriram bets the Q♥ 7♠ 3♦ flop for 6,500 to earn two calls and checks the 2♣ turn.

Hidalgo now bets 11,100 and Kim folds, as does Sriram, for the Spaniard to claim the healthy pot with a big smirk on the face.

Day 1a is now up to 93 entries and among the next casualties is Anton Johnson over on table one seat one, replaced by Nariman Yaghmai soon after. Also in the mix now are Koen Breed, Graham Cowan, Asish Ghosh, Yiannis Liperis, Arun Sriram, Thomas Boivin, Mike Falcon, Michael Gathy, Adrien Berger and Marius Kudzmanas.
