Ultra short stacked Conor Grimsley committed his tournament life right on the big blind and was up against button raiser Craig Jones for a race.

Grimsley behind, missed to improve on board A♦ T♥ 9♣ Q♦ 7♥ , sending him out of the W High Roller running entirely.

Conor Grimsley defended his big blind against Zhifan Ye's 200,000 cutoff open, and went ahead and led all-in for his last 335,000 on flop 7♠ 4♦ 2♠ . Ye made the call with A♦ 3♥ , putting Grimsley at risk with a flush draw Q♠ 9♠ .

Turn 3♠ instantly landed a third spade, leaving Ye drawing dead while at the same time, sealing the double up for Grimsley.

With a pot brewing between Hoang Hai Nam and Conor Grimsley on the big blind on board T♠ 6♥ 8♣ J♣ , Hoang decided to pad the pot even further with a hefty 300,000 turn bet.

Grimsley check called onto river A♠ and was put in a tough spot as Hoang went for a final 850,000. Grimsley used up all his six time banks before throwing in the call, only to muck as Hoang revealed flopped straight 9♥ 7♥ for the win.

Conor Grimsley opened on the cutoff and was met with a 210,000 three bet from Hoang Hai Nam right behind. Grimsley, standing his ground, padded it further to 500,000, more than enough to get Hoang to lay it down.

Following an early open and a call, Fabian Rolli shot out a 200,000 three bet on the cutoff and was challenged by initial raiser Conor Grimsley.

On flop Q♦ 9♣ 6♦ , Grimsley check called another 180,000 from Rolli, revealing another card on board, 7♥ . Action slowed down to river 9♠ , where Grimsley tank led 175,000. Rolli paid the price yet mucked as Grimsley showed two pair A♣ Q♣ .

Phan Huu Minh Tri defended his late position open and called a 150,000 three bet from Conor Grimsley a seat after.

On flop T♥ K♥ 5♥ , Phan min check raised 110,000, to which Grimsley called to see turn 5♠ . Both checked the action through to river 4♣ , prompting Phan to gun for a final 375,000. Grimsley gave up the fight and shipped his opponent the pot.

Leading the star-studded lineup is Vietnam's Hoang Hai Nam with 65 bb. Not too far behind is recent APPT Cambodia National champion Fabian Rolli with 52 bb. Armon Van Wijk will also be one to watch for having had plenty of success at WPC in the past. Wijk enters with 36 bb.
