Wong Chen Rui Eliminated in 8th Place

Level 16: 10,000 / 20,000 ante: 20,000
Wong Chen Rui

Wong Tin Lam opened to 40,000 from under the gun and Wong Chen Rui called in the small blind.

On the 8 Q 8 flop, Rui check-called a continuation-bet of 30,000 from Lam to see the 3 fall on the turn, where Rui checked and Lam fired out 100,000. Rui then shoved for 190,000, to which Lam snap-called, putting his opponent at risk.

Wong Chen Rui: K Q

Wong Tin Lam: A A

Lam dominated the hand with pocket aces against Rui’s flopped pair of queens. The deck then delivered another 8 on the river, improving both players to a full house but sending their fortunes in opposite directions.

Rui’s run came to an end in eighth place.

Nyanta Eliminated in 9th Place

Level 16: 10,000 / 20,000 ante: 20,000
Nyanta

Button Nyanta got it all in for his remaining 165,000 and big blind Kinako called. They tabled their hands:

Kinako: 8 8

A brutal flop for Nyanta as the dealer flipped over A J 8, giving him top pair but a set to Kinako. The Q did improve him but left him still drawing thin. The 9 on the river confirmed he was eliminated in 9th place and sent to the payout desk.

Rinatei Falls as Bubble Girl

Level 15: 10,000 / 15,000 ante: 15,000
Rinatei

On the direct bubble, Kinako open-shoved the button for around 768,000, and Rinatei called off her 113,000, putting herself at risk.

Rinatei: K 7

Kinako: 9 9

Kinako was ahead with pocket nines against Rinatei’s king-high and kept control on the 4 5 8 flop, though Rinatei picked up a gutshot

The dealer delivered a T on the turn, and Rinatei was still looking for a king or six for her survival.

However, the river J sealed her fate. Rinatei’s run ended just shy of the money, claiming the unfortunate title of bubble girl as Kinako scooped the pot.

Lam Bows Out as Kicklean Turns Up the Heat

Level 14: 6,000 / 12,000 ante: 12,000
Kicklean

Kicklean opened to 26,000 from under the gun, and Tetsu called from the hijack, as did Wong Tin Lam in the big blind.

The trio checked the Q 7 6 flop to see a board-pairing Q turn, where Lam led out for 45,000. After some thought, Kicklean raised to 115,000, prompting a quick fold from Tetsu.

Action returned to Lam, who bumped it up to 250,000, sending Kicklean deep into the tank. After roughly three minutes, Kicklean counted out his chips and fired back with a four-bet to 750,000.

“Do you have seventy-five thousand?” Kicklean asked as the tension built.

After thinking it through, Lam eventually tossed his cards into the muck. Before the dealer collected the cards, Kicklean flipped over one queen.
