Day 1B of the Main Event drew 349 entries (250 unique), eclipsing the opening flight’s total. After a long grind that saw the bubble burst just before midnight, 44 players advanced to Day 2, each now guaranteed a payout.

Bagging the biggest stack of the night was Ireland’s Henri Hinds, who closed with 946,000 after a dominant performance late in the day. Already a familiar face this series, Hinds has reached three final tables at GLPC: the Billionaire Club Challenge, High Roller 6-Max, and Superstar Challenge - but is still searching for that first title. With over $218,000 in live earnings and a career-best cash of $117,000, he's given himself the best chance to finally capture the gold.

Hinds vaulted into the chip lead after a decisive hand against Kok Wei Teoh. On a board reading Q♥ J♥ 3♠ 7♣, Teoh shoved for 203,000 and was snap-called by Hinds. Teoh tabled ace-jack, but was in deep trouble against Hinds’ pocket aces. The river brought another seven, confirming the elimination and sending Hinds soaring past the 800K mark, maintaining that momentum right to the end of the day.

The bubble burst in dramatic fashion as two players fell simultaneously across different tables. At one table, Jae Ki Choi scored a crucial knockout when his overpair held against Thi Tuyet Trinh Nguyen’s top pair, sending Nguyen to the rail. Meanwhile, at a nearby table, Xiaohui Wang was also eliminated after his trip sevens were outdrawn by Jia Shun Lee’s straight. With both busting on the same hand, Wang and Nguyen shared the min-cash as dual bubble players.

After doubling up Robert Kiss during hand-for-hand play, Jae Ki Choi found redemption in the next crucial hand against Thi Tuyet Trinh Nguyen.

Choi opened to 22,000, and Nguyen defended her big blind. On the flop 7♣ 6♣ 5♣ , Nguyen snap-shoved for 93,000, and Choi instantly called.

Nguyen hit top pair, but Choi’s overpair held strong. The turn T♣ and river Q♠ missed, sealing Nguyen’s fate as one of the two bubble players, while Choi claimed the knockout.

Meanwhile, at Table 42, the action heats up with another all-in and a call.

Small blind Xiaohui Wang got the remainder of his 220,000 chip stack in against big blind Jia Shun Lee on a completed board showing T♥ 7♣ 7♠ 5♥ 8♣, however before the floor could come over to reveal the hands, there was another all-in call on the next door table.

After that hand had been completed, they were instructed to show their hands. Wang got out of his seat as he saw Lee's jack-nine for a straight, beating out his ace-seven for triple sevens.

The board Q♥ J♥ 3♠ 7♣ was already up and action heated on the turn when Kok Wei Teoh moved all in for 203,000, called instantly by Henri Hinds.

Teoh saw the bad news and sat up in disbelief as the dealer rolled out the river 7♣ . No miracle came, Hinds’ pocket aces held strong, and with that massive pot, he soared to the chip lead.

Javkhlan Ganbold three-bet shoved for 100,000 after Jian Shun Lee opened the button to 17,000. Lee asked for a count but eventually let it go, giving Ganbold a small but valuable increase.

Soon after, Ganbold completed from the small blind and Sean Ooi checked his option. The flop came 8♣ K♦ 9♣, and both players checked. On the K♠ turn, Ganbold led for 12,000 and Ooi made the call. The Q♠ river was checked through, with Ganbold showing 9♦ 7♥ for a flopped pair to take it down.

Players are now on their fifth scheduled break of the day. No chip race will occur during this break.

There are currently 52 players remaining, with hand-for-hand play starting when the field hits 45.

Another pre-flop all in here between Yushin Lee, all in for 108,000, and Chengbei Li, who had the bigger stack.

A classic coin flip, Lee picked up hope when the flop 8♠ 8♣ 7♣ brought two clubs, but the turn 6♠ and river J♦ bricked out. His run came to an end, just 10 spots short of the money.

One of the most interesting hands of the day, a pre-flop all in between Aaron Lam Weiming and Truong Thinh Nguyen, who was all in for 78,000.

Both players woke up with monsters, but the flop Q♥ 5♣ 2♥ shocked the table as Nguyen hit a set of queens. Just when it looked over, the turn A♦ flipped the script, giving Weiming a set of aces. Nguyen had just one out left, but the river K♦ bricked, and Weiming scored a dramatic double-up.

UTG Quang Van Pham opened, small blind Hong Phuoc Lanh called, and big blind Khan Viet Duong shoved for 30,000. Pham responded with a raise to 111,000, and Lanh also shoved for 62,000, setting up a three-way all in.

The flop A♠ J♠ J♦ delivered an ace for Pham, securing a commanding lead. The turn Q♥ and river 3♥ bricked, giving Pham a double knockout and solidifying his spot as table chip leader.

After an early lead, Andreas Christodoulou was down to just 42,000 and decided to shove. From the button, chip leader Shu Liu made the call.

Dominated by Liu, Christodoulou needed a four to survive. But the flop Q♠ 9♥ 8♥ crushed his hopes, leaving him nearly drawing dead. The turn 4♣ offered a glimmer of hope, yet the river 7♣ failed to deliver, ending his run in painful fashion.

Long Nguyen opened from UTG, and cutoff Duy Thuc Nguyen called. On the flop 7♥ 5♥ 4♠ , Long fired 17,000, followed by 25,000 on the turn 5♣ , both streets called by Duy Thuc. Long didn’t stop and bet 60,000 on the river J♥ . Duy Thuc used a time bank before making the call.

Long Nguyen reveal his hand Q♥ 9hL and he rivered a flush, leaving Duy Thuc in disbelief. Even with just a flush draw, Long’s persistence paid off on the river.

All-in preflop between USOP Main Event Champion Ngoc Dai Nguyen, who shoved for 99,000, and Quang Tuan Dinh.

The board J♣ 7♠ 3♦ 6♣ 9♦ ran clean for Dinh, who eliminated Nguyen. No worries for Nguyen, though, as there are still three flights left for a chance to make it to Day Two.

In the first hand, the action was joined on a flop showing 3♣ Q♦ T♦. Jie Zheng eliminated a player when his big slick made a straight on the J♣ 2♦ turn and river, beating out the pocket sixes of the other player.

In the second hand, Lok Ching Li raised to 8,000 from middle position and was called by big blind Chengbei Li. Li check-called Ching's 7,000 continuation-bet following the 4♥ K♣ 2♠ flop. Botgh players checked through the 6♥ turn to see the K♥ river, where Li led for 7,000. Ching called only to see Li's A♠ 4♠ for middle pair, mucking his own hand.

In the third hand cutoff Nguyen The Huy raised to 8,000 before being three-bet to 19,000 from small blind Nguyen Duc Hieu. Huy folded shortly after.

Robert Kiss opened to 8,000, and Henri Hinds defended. These two are no strangers, having clashed before in the Superstar Challenge, Billionaire Club, and Super High Roller.

On the flop T♠ 8♣ 3♠ , Kiss c-bet 4,000, and Hinds check-raised 13,000. Kiss called. Hinds continued the pressure with 17,000 on the turn 5♣ , and Kiss called again.

On the river 2♥ , Hinds bet 48,000, leaving Kiss to use his time bank before finally laying down his hand. Hinds’ relentless aggression wins the pot without a showdown.

Players are now on their fourth scheduled break of the day. There will be a chip race for the 500-denomination chips.

Youssef Zereg eliminated Ha Seongmin and cracked Ferdinand Lu’s Aces in a massive hand.

Action started with UTG Seongmin opening. On his left, Lu called, and button Zereg also called, with both blinds following. Five ways to the flop 7♦ 2♦ 2♣ , Seongmin c-bet 11,000, Lu called, then Zereg pumped it to 36,000, folding both blinds. Action returned to Seongmin, who called, and then Lu shoved for 41,500. Zereg and Seongmin stayed in.

On the turn 8♦ , Seongmin checked, and Zereg snap-shoved all in. Seongmin, already committed, called his remaining 45,000.

Lu was looking to triple up, but the river J♦ brought another diamond, completing Zereg’s flush. Both Lu and Seongmin were eliminated by Zereg in a huge double knockout.

Action folded to the button, Xiaohui Wang raised 6,500, and small blind Duc Canh Cu called.

Cu check-called Wang’s c-bet of 8,500 on the flop Q♦ J♥ 3♥ . On the turn 9♦ , Cu checked again, and Wang fired 22,000.

Cu raised to 60,000, putting Wang in the tank. After thinking it over, Wang folded.

Zhiyu Wang opened from UTG. On the button, Peng Sen Wu raised to 21,000, and small blind Ngoc Khanh Nguyen called. Action returned to Wang, who shoved for 90,000. Wu folded, and Nguyen used all his time banks before calling.

The flop T♦ 8♠ 2♣ looked safe for Nguyen, ready to eliminate Wang. But Wang hit the turn K♥ , leaving Nguyen with just two outs. The river 2♥ bricked, and Wang scored a huge double up.

Junjie He, the APT Incheon 2025 Main Event Champion, is here and already in the action. He got caught in a preflop all-in situation against Hong Quan Nguyen.

A classic flip, and the board favored He, who held strong and avoided both the ace and eliminated Nguyen.

Roman Nikulin raised to 4,000 from the button but quickly folded when small blind Junjie He came back with a 15,000 three-bet.

Hand 2

He then opened to 4,000 from the button, only to see Yangfeng Wang shove from the small blind. He made the call.

Wang stood up almost immediately, ready to exit as the Q♣ 5♥ J♣ flop hit. But the 8♣ 7♣ runout gave him a miraculous nut flush, forcing him to return to the table for a full double-up.

Hand 3

Hong Quan Nguyen completed in the small blind and Thi Xoa Nguyen checked. Quan check-folded to Xoa’s 5,000 bet on the Q♥ T♣ 6♥ flop.

Hand 4

In the hijack, He raised to 4,000 but folded when Wang shoved from the cutoff.

Hand 5

He opened to 4,000 again but folded to Wang’s 15,500 three-bet, ending a frustrating series of pots for him.

With Level 11 now underway, registration has officially closed for Day 1B. The flight drew a total of 349 entries, comfortably surpassing the previous one. 44 players will advance in the money, with hand-for-hand play set to begin at 45 remaining.

Players are now on their third break of the day, with registration closing before the start of level 11. There will be a chip race for the 100-denomination chips.

Once registration is closed there will be an update regarding ITM/payout figures.

Three consecutive hands played out at Table 43, featuring chip leader Quang Tuan Dinh in the spotlight.

First Hand:

Guo Guang Ng opened to 3,000 but folded when Hong Phuoc Lanh 3-bet to 11,000.

Second Hand:

Hong Phuoc Lanh opened to 3,000, Thi My Phuong Nguyen called, followed by calls from the small blind and big blind Yanlin Wu. After the flop J♥ 5♦ 4♣ , Wu donk-bet 5,000, and only Nguyen called. When the turn 2♠ came, Wu shoved, forcing Nguyen to fold.

Third Hand:

Chip leader Quang Tuan Dinh opened to 3,500 with three callers. After the flop A♦ 2♣ 2♦ , Dinh continued for 5,000, and all players folded.

Hun Tae Choi opened to 6,000 and called Vuong Le Cong’s 8,500 three-bet, both from middle position.

On the Q♦ 9♣ 2♠ flop, Choi checked, and Cong continued for 8,000. That was enough to get it through as Choi released his cards into the muck.

The board was up 8♠ 4♥ 3♦ 5♦ T♥ with 45,000 in the middle. Big blind Ferdinand Lu, the lone Filipino here in GLPC, bet big for 30,000. Button Tuan Nghia Tran tanked before making the call.

Lu revealed A♠ 2♥ for a straight, and Tran quietly mucked his hand.

Le Thong Su raised to 3,000 from the big blind and found a caller in small blind Zhiming Fu.

Fu check-called Su’s 2,500 continuation-bet on the 2♠ 9♦ A♥ flop, and both checked through the 6♣ turn.

On the 3♥ river, Fu led out for 5,000. Su used a timebank before raising to 16,500, and after some confusion, Fu eventually called.

Su showed T♥ 9♥ for middle pair, but Fu’s K♦ 9♣ played to take the pot.

Big blind Youssef Zereg check-called a 4,000 bet from hijack Hyeongseok Gong on a flop of Q♥ 6♣ 2♥.

The Q♣ turn brought more action as Gong fired 13,000, nearly half his stack, and Zereg moved all-in to put him to the test. Gong called and saw the bad news.

Zereg’s full house had Gong’s trips crushed, and the 4♣ river sealed his elimination with one level left before registration closed.

Main Event Day 1B easily passed Day 1A’s 311 entries. Day 1B currently has 316 entries and still two more levels to enter.

USOP Player of the Year Taowei “David” Chang is here playing the Main Event.

He proudly wears the first-ever Player of the Year bracelet, a symbol of consistency and excellence throughout the series.

Earlier this day, Chang finished 7th in the Super High Roller. Yesterday, he also made another deep run with an 8th-place finish in the Billionaire Club Challenge

Now, all eyes are on him as he looks to continue his incredible run in the Main Event.

Preflop all in between Hungary’s Patrik Demus with 39,000 and Vietnam’s Van Tiep Vu. The cards were tabled and tension filled the room.

Demus was far ahead preflop, but fate had other plans. The dealer spread the flop J♣ T♥ 9♦ , giving Vu a flopped nut straight. Demus froze in disbelief, his eyes fixed on the board, hoping for a miracle queen. The turn T♦ and river 2♠ came blank, his hopes shattered as Vu’s rail erupted in celebration.

Yishou Han raised to 2,000 from early position and picked up two callers — Vu Chau Duong on the cutoff and Yun Rong Cheong in the small blind.

Cheong check-folded on the 3♠ J♥ 9♥ flop, while Duong called Han’s 2,500 continuation bet.

Han fired again for 5,000 on the 2♥ turn, forcing a fold from Duong.

In the following hand, Kok Wei Teoh completed in the small blind and called Cuong Le Manh’s raise to 3,500.

Both checked through the 5♣ 6♣ 7♣ flop and 2♣ turn, before Teoh led out for 8,000 on the 9♥ river. Manh made a quick call, but Teoh showed A♥ 8♣ for an (almost straight flush) straight to scoop the pot. Manh revealed A♠ 9♠ with a shake of the head.

Players are now on their second scheduled break of the day.

Folded to cutoff, Zhiming Fu opened 1,700. Big blind Kun Han Lee 3-bet to 6,200. Fu called.

After the dealer showed the flop Q♦ T♦ 2♠ , Lee snap-bet 6,500. Fu did not back down. Another fast bet for 24,000 on the turn 9♥ , and Fu acted quickly, shoving for 38,200. Lee called.

Fu improved to two pair on the turn. The river 5♠ did not help Lee, leaving him frustrated by the outcome.

Andreas Christodoulou opened to 1,700 from middle position, then called button Quang Duc Nguyen's three-bet to 5,000, and they headed to the flop.

Christodoulou check-called Nguyen's 4,000 bet once the K♣ 7♥ 4♠ flop hit the felt.

The 6♦ landed on the turn, and Christodoulou checked once again. Nguyen fired 11,000 into the middle, and Christodoulou responded by moving his entire 55,000-chip stack forward, putting table newcomer Nguyen all-in to call.

Nguyen used a couple of timebanks before eventually folding, losing nearly half his stack in the process.

David Gershun came over to me and excitedly shared one of his best bluffs against fellow Sergei Pronin.

Action starts when Pronin opens from the cutoff, button calls. Big blind Gershun pumps it to 5,500. Pronin doesn’t plan to back down and pumps it again to 12,500. Button folds and Gershun calls. Pronin fires again 10,000 on the flop 4♣ 6♦ 8♥ rainbow . Gershun check-call. Both players check the turn T♠ .

Gershun leads out on the river 2♣ and puts all of his chips in, then Pronin snap folds. Gershun told me that he had ace-jack offsuit. He said he shoved because he thought Pronin only had ace-queen or ace-king and would have bet on the turn if Pronin’s hand was strong.

Facing an early-position raise, Henri Hinds 3-bet to 4,000. The hijack and big blind called, followed by the initial raiser Nhu Hieu Mai, making it a four-way pot.

All players checked the flop Q♣ 8♣ 2♥ , and when the turn J♥ arrived, Hinds fired 8,000. Only Mai made the call. On the river 4♥ , Mai led out with a 25,000 donk bet. Hinds went deep into the tank, using two time banks before making the call just as the clock was about to run out.

Mai mucked his cards, revealing his bluff had failed, and Hinds dragged in a well-earned pot with a hero call.

Button Yushin Lee had just called Jie Zheng's 3,000 three-bet from middle position, and the two went heads-up to the flop.

Both players checked through the T♦ 3♠ 6♠ flop to see the 5♣ land on the turn. Zheng led out for 4,500, and Lee made the call.

Zheng slowed down on the 8♦ river with a check; Lee took the betting lead and fired 6,500, forcing Zheng to fold.

In the next hand, Zheng raised to 1,200 and received two calls - Peng Zheng next door and Yuxuan Hou in the cutoff.

The dealer fanned the 6♠ Q♥ K♦ flop, and Zheng continued for 1,500. Only Peng stuck around.

Zheng check-folded to Peng’s 2,700 bet once the 2♠ hit the turn.

I had the pleasure of having a deep conversation with Joker, where he shared his incredible life story, one filled with challenges, perseverance, and passion.

Born into a wealthy family, Joker never knew hardship until the age of 15, when his family business went bankrupt. By 17, he was doing whatever it took to survive, working as a construction worker, a butcher, and taking any job he could find. He even spent two months living and eating in a subway station. For nearly ten years, he hustled his way through life, doing any kind of work just to get by.

In 2018, Joker found his true calling when he started working as a poker dealer in Korea.

When the pandemic hit, life took another turn, but this time, things began to improve. His family was able to recover from bankruptcy. His sister began working for Samsung, his father rebuilt the family business, and his mother returned to work. Joker’s life has been full of ups and downs, but through it all, he never backed down. Even after his family’s recovery, he continued to chase his passion, the game of poker.

Joker is deeply dedicated to his craft. Even when he’s not running events, he studies tournament rules and management to become an even better Tournament Director. Outside of poker, he’s also into trading crypto, real estate, gold, and fitness.

Over the years, Joker has worked as a freelance Tournament Director for major brands including USOP, APT, WPT, TLPT, ASPT, P1, AJPC, KPC, Super Cup, and many other local events in Korea. His first international event was APT Hanoi Billions, and since then, he has continued to travel and represent the Korean poker scene proudly.

When I asked about his goals, Joker shared:

“I want to be a senior in this field, like Matt Savage and Lloyd Fontillas. I really look up to them.”

He truly loves what he does and can’t imagine himself in any other profession.

In the first hand, button Quang Vu Dinh raised to 2,000 and received a lone call from Tuan Nghia Tran.

On the 8♣ A♦ 5♠ flop, Tran check-called a 1,200 continuation-bet from Dinh.

Both players checked the T♥ turn to the A♥ river, where Tran checked again but folded when Dinh fired 4,000 into the middle.

In the second hand, Thai Quang Nguyen raised to 1,000 and received two calls: Tran in the small blind and Tran Van Diem in early position.

Both Diem and Tran check-called Nguyen's 1,200 continuation-bet following the Q♣ 2♠ K♥ flop.

Tran check-folded, while Diem check-called a second barrel of 3,000 from Nguyen once the 2♦ hit the turn.

Diem checked again on the K♣ river, and Nguyen slid 4,000 into the middle. After a moment’s thought, Diem made the call, only to see Nguyen’s ace-kicker play. Both had a king, but Nguyen’s kicker proved the difference.

It was the first hand of action for Yankai Zhang, and it already ended in a bad beat.

Both blinds, Yanfeng Wang and Yankai Zhang, went all in preflop.

Wang was dominated, but the flop 8♣ 8♥ 2♦ brought him trips, leaving Zhang in disbelief as he could only shout and smile at the unbelievable sight. The turn 5♠ sealed the deal for Wang, and the river K♦ was just a formality.

Dorel Cohen three-bet shoved for his remaining 28,000-chip stack. Original raiser Valerii Riabov got out of the way, but hijack Le Ngoc Su made the call, putting himself at risk:

Su was looking pretty good for a double, but the 8♣ window card was ominous, with the 7♣ 8♥ completing the flop to absolute shock at the table.

Su grabbed his things as the J♥ 9♥ completed the board.

Tran Xuan Duy called Riabov Valerii's 2,000 three-bet, both in middle position.

On the A♣ 9♠ T♦ flop, Duy check-called Valerii's 1,500 continuation-bet.

Once the 6♦ hit the turn, Duy checked again. This time Valerii fired off 5,500 into the middle, and after a moment’s thought, Duy decided to let it go.

Victor Lam raised to 10,400 and picked up two callers in Trung Hieu Dang and Shuphala Vongsounthon, taking them three ways to the flop.

After the dealer spread the A♣ 5♦ 5♣, Lam moved all in for his remaining 14,500, and only Dang made the call:

Lam saw the writing on the wall early and was already out of his seat by the time the 7♥ 3♠ runout sealed his elimination. It's still early doors, however, with plenty of time to get back in the mix

Three players went to the flop K♠ T♠ 4♥ and turn 8♥ with 16,300 already in the middle. From the small blind, Quoc Duy Nguyen checked, followed by a check from the big blind. Zixu Wang in the cutoff fired 11,000. Nguyen responded with an all-in shove for 18,900. The big blind folded, and Wang snap-called holding just a gutshot and flush draw.

Nguyen’s set of tens held strong as the river 4♣ blanked out, even improving him to a full house to secure the double up.

On a completed board of 7♣ Q♥ 6♥ 2♠ J♣, cutoff Le Thong Su bet 16,000. Thi Hao Tran paused briefly before announcing she was all in for her remaining 34,000.

Su burned through several timebanks before finally calling, only to find Tran had rivered a set with J♠ J♥. The dealer revealed Su’s K♠ 8♠ as his cards hit the muck.

Su stood up, thinking he was out, before realising he had just 800 left behind. He was eliminated on the very next hand.

Hijack Harsh Bubna opened to 600 and called cutoff Victor Lam’s 1,800 three-bet, along with big blind Tommi Krankka.

Bubna check-folded after Lam continued for 1,600 on the 2♣ A♥ 5♥ flop, with Krankka sticking around to call.

Both players checked the Q♥ turn, and on the 3♠ river Krankka led out for 6,600. Lam thought it over before ultimately letting his hand go.
