The second of eight flights of the TMT 18 Main Event came to a thrilling close as 502 entries packed today’s Day 1B Turbo heat. After nearly ten hours of intense, fast-paced action, only 41 players emerged with bags in hand, securing their spots into Day 2.

South Korea’s Jun Beum Chun topped the field, sealing the final knockout in the very last hand of the night to close out the day. Chun bagged a towering 1,013,000 (51 BB) stack, nearly on par with Day 1A chip leader Zeng Chen Win. At quite a distance were Taiwan’s Cheng You Yao with 719,000 (36 BB) and Huang Teng I with 668,000 (33 BB), both locking in commanding performances to close among the top three.

Also advancing was past champion Chiayun Wu, who navigated the turbo format with poise to end the day with a solid 421,000 (21 BB).

On the fourth hand of bubble time, Chan Lok open jammed his 206,000 stack from the cutoff and nearly got away with it until Jun Beum Chun in the big blind paused and eventually made the call with K♦ J♦ , putting Chan at risk with K♣ 8♦ .

Board J♠ 7♣ 2♥ A♦ 4♦ left Chan in pieces as the stone cold bubble while Chun shot up the ranks to top the field and ring Day 1B to a close.

A preflop showdown unfolded with Byungho Lim all in for his full stack of 231,000 against cutoff raiser Jun Beum Chun. Lim stayed hopeful through the turn A♦ 4♥ 3♣ K♥ , but was left ultimately crushed as the river T♦ bricked out to end his run.
