In the end, it was South Korea’s Hyunsup Kim who emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious title and a cool NTD 1,440,450 (~USD 43,940).

The final showdown was a gripping heads-up battle between Hyunsup Kim and Taiwan’s Kai Cheng Hsu. After a grueling back-and-forth, the two players agreed to an even chop, each taking home the same prize money. However, the trophy was still up for grabs, and both players were determined to claim the glory.

The deciding hand saw Kai Cheng Hsu, with a depleted chip stack, pushing all-in pre-flop with 3♦ 9♣. Kim, holding Q♦ T♥, made the call. The board ran out 5♣ A♦ 7♥ J♥ T♦ , giving Kim a pair of tens and the victory. The crowd erupted as Hyunsup Kim was crowned the TMT 17 Super High Roller Champion, with Kai Cheng Hsu taking a well-deserved second place.

In a post-win interview, Kim shared his excitement:

“I had fun. I had a good experience playing with so many people. TMT is fun and exciting, and I plan to join again.”

Kim, no stranger to the poker scene, highlighted his strategic approach during the heads-up play:

“I only bet when my hands had value. Kai Cheng Hsu is a very good player, and I’ve played with him before, so I knew what to expect.”

When asked about his future plans, Kim revealed his intent to continue competing in major events, including WSOP, and expressed a fondness for playing in Taiwan:

“Taiwan is a good place because we are neighbors. I plan to join more events here and abroad.”

Memorable Moments
