Day 1A chip leader Zheng Xuan Cai had an intense journey filled with ups and downs. His journey to accumulate a massive stack of 884,000 [147 BB] began when he knocked out Gary Ma with top pair over a missed draw. To end the day, Zheng delivered the bubble, eliminating Jui Tai with a higher kicker.

Coming in second in chips was Taiwan’s Jun Zhong Wang with 526,000 [87BB]. In third was Jee Weon Kim of Korea with 477,000 [79BB] . Other notable players moving on to Day 2 were Philippines David Erquiaga, Germany’s Carsten Klug, and Wu Chiayun.

Following an open and a call, Seokyoung Lee sent out a three bet to 4,000 and saw Jee Weon Kim behind push all-in for 15,600. Initial raiser Marcus Sim reshoved, successfully isolating the short stack after Lee open folded J♠ J♥ .

Tabling the same hand, both Sim and Kim chopped the pot on board J♣ 9♠ 4♠ 3♠ 9♥ , which could have gone otherwise if Lee joined the action.
