Main Event

Day 1A of the Main Event wrapped up with Hong Kong's Andrew Ma (Chun Yu Ma) bagging the lead with over a million in chips. Ma topped the 50 survivors out of the thunderous 329 field. Stay tuned for the recap.

Shan Jen Cheng is down to crumbs and looks down at A♣ 8♠ which is good enough to go all in. Ryan Li and Chia Shuo Chang call then check down the board 7♠ 6♦ 6♣ 2♥ 6♠ . Chang has T♣ 6♥ for quads, Li mucks, Cheng bubbles.

Down to 4 bb, Erwin Ng slides it in with Q♦ 7♦ to battle with and doesn't get past Hwasoo's Q♥ Q♠ to bump the rail just before the bubble round.

Ryan Li enters a betting war with Chia Shuo Chang kicking it off with a min-raise. Chang three-bets 75,000, Li four-bets 180,000. Chang gives it up. Li shows K♦ K♣ .

Andrew Ma gets dealt 9♦ 9♣ and raises 20,000. Button Erwin Ng and big blind Teng Yu Yu call and see a flop 6♣ 3♣ 2♣ . Ma continues with a 40,000 bet, only Ng calls then both check the turn T♠ and river 5♦ . Ma reveals his pair and Ng mucks.

Down to 10 bb, Kuan Yu Lin three-bets it all with A♠ K♣ and is at risk against caller Hongyu Huang with 6♥ 6♦ . Lin improves on the flop A♣ T♦ 2♥ and stays ahead on the turn 2♠ however with the river 6♠ , the lead vanishes as Huang pulls out front with a full house. Huang goes bust.

Faced with a raise, Andrew Ma three-bets 65,000 and Hwasoo defends his initial raise. With the board running 4♦ A♦ 9♦ 8♠ 3♥ , Ma bets 32,000, 68,000, and 215,000, Hwasoo check-calls throughout and shows A♣ Q♣ top pair. Ma's A♠ K♥ kicker plays to drag in a big pot and rise to the top of the counts.

With the bubble approaching, heavy bets have been seen around the room. One such hand saw action fold to the small blind Chung Yi Ho who let out a 20,000 raise, big blind Chieh Chi Liu responded with a 65,000 re-raise, Ho gave up his hand.

Seungmin Yu kicks off the action with a 20,000 raise and is called by the small blind Atsai Cheng Lin. Both players like the flop K♥ Q♥ 3♣ with Yu c-betting 20,000 then calling Lin's check-raise of 60,000. On the turn 3♥ and river 6♥ , Yu is unstoppable with bets of 65,000 and a shove. Lin calls then folds.

Though Chan lands top pair, the turn improves Ko to a set and Chan is drawing dead.

With the board in favor of Lee, it's a sweep.

Hwansoo raises 13,000, Andrew Ma makes it 36,000, Hwasoo punches back with 81,000, Ma surrenders his hand.

From the small blind Hyunsup Kim three-bets 36,000 and Erwin Ng defends his raise. Both check to the turn K♦ K♣ T♣ T♥ , Ng bets 28,000, Kim check-calls, river is 7♠ . Kim resumes aggression with a 43,000 bet, Ng tank-folds.

Hsu Chao Chi raises 12,000 with J♦ T♦ then calls Kang Yu Chen's 51,000 shove. Kang is ahead A♣ T♣ against Hsu's J♦ T♦ . The board felts 5♦ T♦ T♠ K♥ J♥ , Kang goes bust to the boat.

Charlie Chiu starts out strong with a 13,000 raise, Wong Sin Shun calls. On the flop J♥ 4♠ 2♠ ,Chiu pumps up the pot another 9000, Wong check-raises to 26,000, Chiu passes.

Looking down at 5♥ 8♥ , button player Andrew Ma raises 12,000 then calls small blind Ko Chia Hsiang's 3500 re-raise. Both check to the turn A♠ 8♠ 2♥ Q♥ . Ma bets 30,000 and Ko check-calls. Bigger bet by Ma on the river 8♦ unloading it all for 103,000, Ko snap-calls.

Ko Chia Hsiang flips over A♥ 5♦ top pair however it's not good enough against Ma's trips.

After his min-raise is called, Park Yu Cheung aka Sparrow, fires at every street on a board 9♦ 9♣ T♠ K♠ 5♠ for 22,000, 38,000, and 50,000. Lone challenger Wu Jia He folds to the river bet.

Big blind Shen Syu Ho calls Wu Jia He's raise and head to the flop 3♥ 4♥ 5♠ . Wu continues for 15,000, Shen check-raises 42,000, Wu calls to bring an A♣ turn. Shen leads out 28,000 and wins the pot.

With Lau missing the board, Lai doubles up and Lau drops to 17 bb.

Jang Gyu Won calls Chan Chun Wai's preflop raise then puts the heat on at the flop A♠ J♠ 7♦ . After Chan c-bets 8000, Jang Gyu raises 19,000, Chan calls. On the turn 5♥ , it is checked to Jang Gyu and continues for 55,000. Chan gives up his hand.

Lo Shing Shan opens, Seungmin Yu re-raises 22,000, Stanley Lau defends the big blind with a shove, no takers to win another pot.

Facing a utg min-raise, button player Chu Yung Chun three-bets 15,500 and gets called to head to the flop T♦ 3♣ 9♠ . Chun continues for 13,500 and is called again. Switch up on the turn 4♠ with utg leading out 23,000 that's doesn't shake off Chun. On the river A♠ , utg fires again, Chun quickly calls and exposes utg's K♥ Q♥ bluff. Chun collects the pot with A♦ K♣ top pair.

By the river 5♥ 3♦ A♣ J♥ 3♥ a big pot of 48,000 has already brewed between Shawn Jie and Shao Hua Tsai. Jie slides out 22,000 only to be sent to the ropes by Shao Hua Tsai's shove. Jie is well covered and goes deep in the tank before giving up his hand.

Roaring start at the inaugural TMT Championship Main Event with 329 runners pulling up seats throughout the nine rounds of registration. With three more flights to play out, the US$ 600,000 guarantee will be crushed, the only question is, will it reach a million?

Day 1A continues until the bubble bursts. 50 players will advance. Still a long way to go with 199 players remaining.

Raised pot preflop for 9,900 in the middle and a flop showing Q♣ 7♣ 9♦ . Opening raiser Hwasoo slides out 3000 and finds one caller in Lee Chien Te to the turn J♠ . Hwasoo checks it, Lee takes the reins with a 5500 bet and does the same on the river 5♦ with a larger 15,800 bet. Hwasoo calls it down then mucks to 7♠ 7♥ set.

Three players generated a pot of 13,800 preflop as the cards spread A♥ Q♣ 6♥ . Following two checks, cutoff Wei Cheng Lin bets 5500, Ting Yao Lin check-raises all in for 9800, Chiang Ching Wen check-shoves as well for 50,000, Wei calls.

With the river K♦ , Wei and Ting miss the flush, Chiang ships it and boots Ting in the process.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika three-bets 8000 and initial raiser Wang Zhi Yu calls. Yotsushika quickly fires 20,000 at the flop 4♦ 3♣ 2♦ and just as quickly wins the pot.

Hang spikes the higher pair on the turn and doubles through.

From utg Chang Chia Shuo raises 2000, hijack Chung Yi Ho three-bets 6000, Chang answers with a four-bet of 22,000, Chung five-bets it all for 71,100, Chang is halted.

Huang Tse Jui raises 2000 and is called by three players who continue to call his 3000 flop bet on a board 8♦ 9♣ K♥ . The turn 8♣ is checked to the button Shun Yi Zheng and makes it 10,000 to go. Big blind Po Jui Chen and Huang call for three players to the river 2♥ . Action is checked again to Zheng and this time he shoves 25,000 which is good enough to rake in the pot unchallenged.

Three players limp in, big blind Lee Chien Te raises 3500 and doesn't lose a player with all three calling. Everyone checks to the turn 3♥ 5♥ J♥ 7♥ . Blinds check, Alex Jiang bets 1000, Yi-Hsin Chung raises 74,800, no callers.

Shawn Jie initiates the action with a raise that Chou Ching Chieh calls on the big blind. Another bet by Jie of 1200 on a flop A♠ 3♠ 5♥ and Chou still likes his cards and calls. Both pass on the turn 4♠ then Jie leads out 5000 on the river 6♥ . Chou gives up his hand.

Four players in on a raise pot preflop head to a flop A♠ K♦ 6♦ . Preflop raiser Liu Ting Hsuan continues for 3700 and this time only one players calls Jia Chen Luo as the rest fold. The turn A♣ brings more chips with Liu betting 6800 that Jia calls. By the river 4♣ , Liu decides to slow down and check, Jia uses it to fire 15,000, Liu calls and is outkicked.

On a board showing 9♣ 8♠ 2♥ 6♥ and a pot 7,900, hijack Steven Huang bets 4200 and big blind Hsieh Song Yang check-calls. Same action on the river 7♦ with Huang sending out 15,000, Hsieh snap-calls then mucks to Huang's J♣ T♣ straight.

Three players stare down a board 4♠ T♦ 8♦ 8♣ with 30,700 in the pot. Big blind Chul Ho Park bets 9500 and is called by both Yoonsang Jo and Choi Dongyeol. On the river 5♠ , all three check.

Three players in on a raised pot, utg Chang Hong Lu continues the betting for 1600 at the flop J♣ 7♣ 6♠ and only the small blind Xin Xien Shen calls. Both players check the turn 8♦ and get a free look at the river T♠ . Xin leads out with a big shove and wins the pot.

Chen Shou Dien bumps it up from the button and the blinds call. Chen continues for 2000 on a flop 9♠ 7♠ 2♦ , only big blind Yu Cheng Hsu takes interest with a check-raise of 6000. On the turn 9♣ , Yu leads out 7000, Chen calls. Yu leads out again on the river 5♠ for 12,000, Chen shoves 24,400, Yu is covered and opts not to risk it.

Eosoo Lee opens 1500, small blind Chul Ho Park three-bets 5600, big blind four-bets 15,600, Lee shoves 44,700, no takers.

Cheung King Wai raises then calls Lin Huawei's 3000 re-raise. Both players proceed to check to the river A♥ ^d Q♦ K♥ 4♦ . Cheung tosses in 4000, Lin calls then mucks to Cheung's Q♣ Q♥ set.

Pound for pound between cutoff Jin Sung Anh and button Fan Chi Hou opens with a raise of 1500 from Anh. Fan makes it 4000 to continue, Anh answers with a four-bet of 10,000, this slows down Fan who calls.

On the flop K♣ 9♦ 7♣ , Anh continues for 5500, Fan flats, dealer drops K♥ on the turn. Anh taps the felt, Fan jumps out 10,000, Anh surrenders his hand.

Kuo Mong Song defends the big blind and heads to the flop Q♦ 8♦ 4♠ with aggressor Song Ju Chan. No bets land. Kuo leads out 2700 on the turn J♠ and claims the pot.

Good looking pot preflop is kicked off by Jostein Chen with a min-raise, two players call, then big blind Kuan Hua three-bets 2500, Chen and the other two callers stick around and toss in the chips. The next streets however, no bets land until the river Q♣ Q♦ 9♦ 9♥ 4♠ . Small blind Lin Huawei leads out 4000 and wins it with no challengers.

Four players in on a raised pot by Moon Youngki see a flop 8♥ 3♣ K♣ . Moon continues for 2000 and is called only by Ming Chang Hsiao. Moon also likes the turn 9♥ and lays out 5000, this time Ming opts to fold.

From utg+1, Shawn Jie min-raises, lojack calls, hijack Yuting Chen three-bets 4500, Jie four-bets 11,000, only Chen finds the reason to call.

Jie continues to pressure with an 8000 bet on the flop Q♣ 4♣ 6♦ , Chen sticks with him for the turn K♦ . Wasting no time counting, Jie shoves, Chen tanks then relinquishes his cards.

Jang Gaeun opens 1100, three players take interest to build a good pot preflop. More chips are dumped on the flop 8♦ J♦ T♥ with Jang c-betting 2500, called by Hung Yu Liao and Colin Ho. On the turn 9♦ , players check to Ho then give up their hands on his 5400 value-bet.

Jin Sung An three-bets 3500 and initial raiser Hsieh Chang Che call. On the flop A♠ Q♠ 4♦ , Jin c-bets 3000 and Hsieh gives it up.

Button player Tu Yi Fan raises 1000 and is looked up the blinds Ju Won Chung and Lin Yu En. Board is checked to the turn 2♣ 9♣ 3♣ 3♦ , small blind Cung leads out 1800 and wins it that easy.

From the button, Chen Hung Han limps in then enters a betting war with big blind Xin Xien Shen who first raises 1200. Chen three-bets 2500, Xin four-bets 5500, Chen five-bets 12,000, Xin gives up the fight.

Lai Hsuan Yu bumps it up to 800, cutoff Jeff Chang makes it 2000, big blind Lee Jung Mo calls and Yu joins in for a three-way. All three proceed to check it to the river 7♥ A♥ 8♦ T♠ J♠ , Lee leads out 1800 and wins it outright.

Facing a 700 raise by utg Wei Ming Hsiang, utg+2 Wu Jia He three-bets 2200 that's called by Hsiang. Wu stays aggressive as the board runs T♦ T♥ 9♣ 5♥ laying out bets 4000 and 12,000. Hsiang folds the turn.

Heavy bets preflop opens with an 800 raise from utg, two spots over Wei Chieh Hsu re-pops 2100, button Chi Fei Ip bangs out a four-bet of 5600 to induce a fold from utg while Wei calls.

On the flop A♦ J♠ 8♠ , Ip c-bets 3500 and Wei calls for the turn 3♠ . Ip fires 10,000 and wins it as Wei folds.

On a turn board 7♠ 6♦ 2♣ K♠ with 2400 in the pot, small blind positioned Wei Ming Hsiang leads out half pot and gets a fold from Hong Lu Chang.

What seemed to be an action heavy hand that opened with utg Kwan Hei Tong raising 400, called by utg+1 Jae Hyung Ko, re-raised to 1600 by cutoff Hungyu Ma, called by Tong and Ko fizzled out on the board 9♥ 7♠ 6♣ 4♥ 8♥ with everyone checking it down.

The first shuffle up and deal of the first TMT Championship Main Event is underway! Players begin with blinds of 100-200 ante 200. 16 players were seated at the opening deal.

After a one day postponement due to Typhoon Kong-Rey, the first ever TMT Championship Main Event will get underway today, November 1, 2024 at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei City, Taiwan. The event features a guarantee of US$ 600,000 with four flights offered.

Cards will start flying at 12pm local time with registration closing at the start of Level 9, approximately 6:45pm. The TMT Championship is the high stakes counterpart of the beloved low stakes Taiwan Millions Tournament which means buy in will be much higher. Players are looking at NT$ 33,000 (~US$ 1,030) to enter and will begin with a 50,000 stack (250x the opening blinds).

Day 1A/1B/1C all have blinds increasing every 40 minutes while Day 1D runs a faster 20 minutes. Each flight plays down to ITM of 15% of the field. At Day 2, the blinds increase every 50 minutes, and on Day 3, the final table will see blinds go up every 60 minutes.
