Main Event

The COEX Convention & Exhibition Center inside of the Starfield Coex Mall in Gangnam, Seoul was the place to be for poker enthusiasts from near and far as the Super Cup Seoul 2024 kicked into high gear. Three different tournaments commenced and that included the highly anticipated Super Cup Seoul Main Event with it's KRW 1 Billion in prizes.

It was the first of four starting days which unfolded and most of the participants were hailing from South Korea with some additions from Japan, the United States and Japan. That ultimately led to 77 participants, all in the hopes of turning their 30,000 chips into a lot more than that to lock up a portion of the cash prize.

Only 12 players were set to advance to the money stages and a duo from South Korea topped the leaderboard when all was done and dusted. Jong Hoon Lee earned the title of Day 1a leader with a stack of 465,000 while Sumin Lim ended not far behind on 441,000.

Both chip leaders were pivotal in concluding the action in level 15 with Lee scoring two big knockouts. He first took a bunch out of French chess enthusiasts and poker cash game pro Yohan "YoYo" Trens, then cracked pocket queens with seven-six suited. Soon after, Lee flopped a set of nines against the top two pair of Yoonseok Choi and soared further up the leaderboard. However, the final elimination came from Lim in the utmost cruel fashion when he hit a two-outer with pocket kings versus pocket aces.

Yoo Young Jin (316,000) and Geunseop Ban (297,000) also bagged up very healthy stacks en route to a possible deep run in this tournament.

The dozen survivors now have two days off from the Main Event action while another three starting days remain for everyone else. Some notables who came and left without anything to show for were Jaejoon Yang, YouTuber Soyoung Ham, well-known comedian Wonhyo Kim, as well as Isabelle Group ambassador Yejin Kim. More fortunate was the only female survivor on Day 1a, Yun Hye Kim, who survived the bubble on a nub and made it through with just 22,000 (four big blinds).

Day 1b will get underway at 11 a.m. local time on the second floor of the Convention Centre inside of "The Platz", with all those joining the action will hope to follow into the footsteps of Lee and Lim. Tune back in then to follow all the action right here on SoMuchPoker.

There is an open shove for 76,000 and big stack Sumin Lim calls, all other players fold. Once the other table is finished, the at-risk player reveals A♠ A♥ and Lim has one notch worse with the K♦ K♥ . The Q♥ J♠ 5♣ 8♠ K♠ board delivered the blow in cruel fashion via two-outer on the river to let the Day 1a bubble burst.

Lim almost ended the night with the chip lead, though, Jong Hoon Lee has retained the top spot by a small margin.

There has been no all-in and call yet on the money bubble but Yun Hye Kim has dropped into the danger zone. On her table, a multi-way pot emerged to the 9♥ 5♦ 4♠ flop on which Junghwan Kim bet for the win the scoop the chips without resistance.

Sumin Leem extracted two streets of value from Kai Liu on a board of K♣ 3♥ 3♣ 6♥ 4♣ before they checked the river. Leem tabled the A♠ K♠ for kings and treys to win the pot, joining the current chip leaders.

"We are one elimination away from hand-for-hand," the floor staff announced as Chunjong Park had been eliminated shortly after the double knockout. And there was another all-in and call on the other table.

However, Yoo Young Jin had little to worry on a board of Q♦ T♣ 4♥ T♠ 9♥ as his Q♠ T♥ had turned tens full of queens. He doubled through Gwongjin Park with the K♥ J♥ for the king-high straight to jump up on the leaderboard.

After this sudden burst of action, there are only 14 players remaining.

Woon Gyu Choi was all-in for just 22,000 and Wongyu Seo also got his shorter stack into the middle, both of which were looked up by Pan Geunseop. The latter was ahead preflop and dodged some outs of Choi throughout the T♥ 5♥ 3♦ Q♥ 2♣ board to knock out two opponents.

Yun Hye Kim and Wongyu Seo limped in before Junghwan Kim raised to 12,000. Both limpers came along to the T♣ 7♣ 3♦ flop on which they checked to the preflop aggressor. Kim bet 35,000 and earned two folds to win the pot.

In a big pot of more than 100,000 to the 8♣ 6♣ 4♥ 7♥ turn, Jong Hoon Lee bet 40,000 out of the small blind. Yohan "YoYo" Trens tossed his two time bank chips towards the dealer and went into the tank. During the final 30-second period, he moved all-in for around 60,000 and Lee called.

Trens showed Q♥ Q♠ but needed help, as Lee had improved to two pair with the 7♠ 6♠ . The board paired, but the 7♦ river only improved Lee to sevens full of sixes while Trens left with the head shaking.

Won Beom Seo was watching the action from nearby, as he had been the one to bust prior for the final two tables to form.

Gwongjin Park defended the big blind and check-called a bet on the Q♥ J♣ 5♥ flop. He did so again for 15,000 on the 9♦ turn and then check-called the J♠ river for 30,000. Yoo Young Jin flashed ten-nine but Park won the hand with the Q♦ 6♥ for superior two pair.

Tae Wook Kang raised to 7,000 and was called by Yoonseok Choi as well as Chunjong Park, the latter of which defended the big blind. Only Park check-called for 11,000 on the 7♥ 2♥ 2♦ flop when Kang continued, then checked the A♦ turn. Kang made it 16,000 to go and won the pot.

Four ways to the 9♣ 8♦ 4♥ flop, Ki Taek Kwon was all-in for 24,000 from under the gun. Kai Liu moved all-in over the top from the button and both bigger stacked blinds folded.

Kwon's K♣ K♥ had some sweat as Liu had a piece of the board with the 9♠ 6♠ . However, the 2♣ turn and J♦ river no threat for Kwon to double.

Out of the big blind, Pan Geunseop led the Q♥ Q♠ 8♦ 6♦ turn for 7,000 and earned a caller in Gwongjin Park. He then increased the sizing to 20,000 on the 7♥ river and Park quickly folded.

There are still 19 players remaining on three tables. Once the field is down to 18 and balances to two tables, the shot clocks will come into play.

Down to just 11,000, Yejin Kim jammed from under the gun. She was called by Yoonseok Choi on the button and Sumin Leem in the big blind. Both active players checked down the T♦ T♥ 8♥ 7♥ 5♠ board and Choi exposed Q♠ 9♠ . Leem had 6♥ 4♣ for a straight and the A♦ 6♣ of Kim were no good.

Yohan Trens three-bet from 8,000 to 20,000 preflop and was called by Jong Hoon Lee, who check-called the 9♠ 8♦ 5♣ flop for 15,000. Both checked the 6♠ turn and Lee bet the 7♠ river for 25,000. Trens called and mucked after being shown Q♣ T♦ for a ten-high straight.

Fukui Ryoma could not spin up his tiny stack while Yitaek Choi departed after he had started the new level below 15 big blinds. Woon Gyu Choi doubled once more then he had some of his chips in preflop and the last 18,000 after on a K♦ 9♦ 4♣ flop.

Choi's K♠ 2♠ were ahead versus Q♥ Q♦ and he kept that lead throughout the 8♣ turn and 7♦ river for another double.

Down to a severe short stack prior to the break, Woon Gyu Choi was now all-in with the K♣ Q♣ and up against T♣ 5♣ . The board ran out T♦ 9♥ 5♥ 6♥ J♦ and the straight came to the rescue.

Choi then got another shove through to add more precious chips.

Level 12 has come to an end with 23 players out of 77 entries remaining and they have been sent on a scheduled 15-minute break, during which the T-500 chips are raced off.

Won Beom Seo raised to 6,000 and earned one caller. Chunjong Park then moved all-in for more than 85,000 and Seo folded. The big stack folded the A♥ Q♦ and Park flashed 2♥ 2♣ before raking in the chips.

A♠ the evening is winding down to the business end of the opening flight, the action has become far slower and the showdowns are rather thinly spread. Only 23 players remain and Day 1a will conclude once the field is whittled down to the final dozen.

The Rookie Event for players under 30 years is down to the final table while the High Roller has 12 players out of 23 entries remaining.

Sanggu Lee raised to 8,000 but then folded when Yoo Young Jin pushed all-in for a stack just shy of half of the average.

Shortly thereafter, Yun Hye Kim flipped with 6♦ 6♠ versus A♦ J♥ and made quads on the A♣ 6♥ 5♠ 6♣ T♦ runout for the double.

There are only 24 players left spread across three tables as Woo Young Jeong lost the duel of micro stacks against a late entrant. Yejin Kim earned an urgently needed pot when her raise to 5,500 was called by Yitaek Choi, who then folded the A♣ 6♥ 5♦ flop to a bet worth 15,000.

Yejin Kim, Jong Hoon Lee and Yohan Trens all limped in. Yitaek Choi then squeezed to 9,500 and was called two ways by Kim and Lee. On the 7♥ 5♥ 5♠ flop, it checked to Choi and he bet 15,000 to win the pot right there.

Prior to the dinner break, Tae Wook Kang had been at risk and doubles with a short stack. Just now, with 25 left and 12 set to advance, he got it in via flip holding the 6♠ 6♥ . He was up versus A♥ K♣ and remained ahead all the way on the T♣ T♦ 9♥ 3♥ 2♦ board to stay in contention.

Moments after Mayuko Takata had lost her last couple of big blinds, a far bigger pot unfolded one table over. On the A♥ 8♦ 7♦ 7♥ turn, Yoonseok Choi bet 20,000 in the small blind. Dongmin Kim then jammed for 42,500 on the button and Choi reluctantly called.

Kim's K♥ 4♥ needed another heart as Choi was ahead with the A♣ 2♣ . Instead, the river brought the A♠ and that sent Kim to the rail, too.

In a three-bet pot to the Q♥ T♠ 4♥ flop, Woo Young Jeong checked and Yoo Young Jin checked back to the Q♣ turn. Jeong now bet 4,500 and called a raise to 12,000.

Jeong checked the 5♦ river and then sigh-folded when Jin moved all-in.

Within two hands, Yohan Trends has left his opponents from South Korea wondering whether or not he had bluffed right after the field reached the last 27 players on Day 1a. In a min-raised pot to the J♠ 4♥ 3♦ he check-called for 4,500 when Dongmin Kim bet and Sumin Leem called.

Trens led the 4♣ turn for 14,000 and both folded.

Kim then opened to 4,000 and called a three-bet to 14,000 by Trens. The French player continued for 10,000 on the 4♠ 3♦ 3♣ flop to earn a call, then jammed the 6♠ turn. Kim sigh-folded the A♦ and was shown the A♣ by Trens.

Joining the action on the 8♠ 7♥ 5♣ 3♠ turn, Fukui Ryoma bet 6,500 and Pan Geunseop called in the next seat. They opted to check down the 2♥ on the river and Ryoma showed the K♣ Q♠ while Pan had that beat with the A♠ Q♣ to collect the pot with a smile.

The field has been reduced to just 29 players and another table will break once two contenders are ousted. Sunjoon Choi was unable to run up his shorter stack and the same table had also lost Soobin Chun. In the meanwhile, Mayuko Takata has only three chips left and will need to make a move very soon.

Pan Geunseop raised to 3,500 and earned one caller. Yoo Young Jin then three-bet to 14,000 and was the only one to call the shove. Geunseop was ahead with K♦ K♥ versus A♣ Q♦ and stayed in the lead throughout the 9♠ 9♥ 6♦ T♠ J♠ runout.

He then raise-folded to a three-bet before raising to 3,500 and taking it down post flop. The next raise to 3,500 followed and came with a three-bet to 10,500 to his right. Pan called but check-folded the A♥ 9♣ 3♠ flop once again.

Woon Gyu Choi had been nursing a short stack for an extended period prior to the dinner break and that still applies now, but he is still in contention. On a multi-way flop of 7♠ 5♥ 4♦ , he bet 3,500 and all his opponents folded for Choi to collect the pot with a sigh.

Yejin Kim had been off to a thrilling start with a double right away, but things have been rather quiet since. She just now managed to knock out a late entrant when her 9♦ 2♦ out of the blinds turned two pair to beat Q J♥ for top pair, moving her stack back to six figures.

Four players opted to jump in at the very last minute for 20 big blinds and that has boosted the field up to 77 entries, of which now 33 players remain. More than half of them will go empty-handed as only the top 12 finishers are set to advance to the money stages from the first of four flights.

Out of a field of 73 entries, only 29 players remain and they have been sent on a scheduled 60-minute dinner break. When they return, the late registration for Day 1a will officially close and everyone still in contention will know what the goal for tonight is going to be.

The action in "The Platz" will recommence at approximately 6.30 p.m. local time.

South Korea's Tae Wook Kang raised to 3,000 and then called all-in for around 26,000 when his sole opponent Sunjoon Choi pushed all-in. The A♥ Q♣ of Kang were ahead versus K♠ J♣ and had just a minor sweat to endure on the Q♦ 9♣ 7♥ Q♥ J♥ as he doubled with trips queens.

Noori Na had re-entered not long ago and was then involved in a battle of the blinds. On the K♥ J♠ 9♥ 3♦ turn, he bet 4,000 and Yohan Trens raised to 14,000. Na declared a reraise and then jammed, Trens quickly called.

Na's K♠ 3♥ had turned two pair but Trens had that beat already with the K♣ J♥ . Nothing changed with the A♣ and Trens doubled for 40,100 to leave Na short.

On the river of a 5♥ 4♠ 4♥ T♣ J♦ board, a medium-sized stack got it in with the K♠ T♠ for tens up and was quickly looked up by the current big stack Yoonseok Choi. The latter showed A♥ J♥ for superior two pair and earned another very healthy pot.

On a heads-up turn of K♠ Q♣ T♦ , Won Beom Seo bet 5,000 and called a raise to 10,000. He then bet 10,000 on the A♦ turn and Yoo Young Jin instantly folded from the next seat while showing a lot of frustration.

A shorter stack opted to move all-in for 15,600 and Won Beom Seo called two seats over in the small blind. The player at risk revealed Q♥ 8♦ and was trailing against Seo's A♠ Q♣ . The A♣ T♦ 3♣ 4♦ K♦ board locked up the pot for Seo on the turn already to boost his stack.

Three ways to the T♣ 9♥ 3♣ flop, Yitaek Choi bet 4,000 when checked to and earned one call. Sumin Leem check-raised to 12,500 and Choi was the only one to stick around.

After the 4♦ turn, Leem bet 8,500 and did so again for 15,000 following the 8♦ river. Choi called both times and won the pot with A♣ T♥ as Leem only had Q♦ T♣ for an inferior kicker.

Jong Hoon Lee raised it up to 3,000 and Dongmin Kim just called two seats over on the button. On a flop of A♦ Q♠ 4♥ , Lee check-called for 2,500. They checked down the Q♣ turn and 4♦ river for Lee to show J♣ T♣ for a missed gutshot. Kim won another pot as his A♥ 7♥ was good for aces up.

Towards the end of the last level. Sumin Leem had flopped a set of fours with 4♥ 4♦ on a board of A♣ 4♠ 3♣ 7♥ J♣ to double through the A♠ J♠ of Yitaek Choi and knock out a shorter stack holding J♥ 3♥ . Leem earned another knockout now while Dongmin Kim has taken over the lead from Jong Hoon Lee.

Jong Hoon Lee had lost a portion of his large stack while Yejin Kim and Woo Young Jeong chipped up on the same table. Lee then raise-called the shove of a short stack for 14 blinds with J♠ 9♦ and was up against A♦ 8♦ .

The two live cards got there on the J♣ 8♠ 6♦ T♠ K♣ runout to reduce the field by one.

On a heads-up flop of A♦ K♣ T♠ with 7,100 in the middle, Si-Jin Park was all-in for the last 12,300 with A♥ Q♠ . That was well ahead of his opponent's A♣ 7♠ and the kicker played on the K♥ turn as well as 6♣ river runout.

Two shorter stacks get their chips into the middle and they are looked up by Yitaek Choi. One of them is Sungjin Park with the 8♥ 8♣ while the second player at risk tables the T♣ T♦ . They are up against Choi's big slick with A♥ K♦ and the 6♦ 5♣ 3♠ K♣ A♠ runout delivers both the king and ace.

Three ways to the 9♦ 6♠ 3♠ 7♠ 8♥ river, the action checked to Jeong-Wook Kim on the button and he bet 15,000. Chip leader Jong Hoon Lee called in the small blind and Si-Jin Park reluctantly folded with a smirk on the face.

Kim showed 8♣ 7♣ for two pair but Lee had 5♥ 5♣ for the bottom end of the straight.

Following a min-raise and two callers, Woon Gyu Choi three-bet to 4,000 and Kai Liu was the only caller. On the K♣ J♠ 4♥ flop, Choi bet 1,700 to earn a call and bet another 2,200 on the T♥ turn. Liu now raised to 4,700 for his opponent to call.

Choi checked the K♦ river and reluctantly paid off a bet worth 6,500 by Liu, then mucked his Q♦ Q♠ when Liu showed A♥ Q♣ for broadway.

Level six has come to an end with 42 players out of 62 entries remaining and they are on another scheduled 15-minute break. The late registration is open for the next three levels and following dinner break until approximately 6.30 p.m. local time.

Japan's Yoshio Yamamura never recovered from the earlier setback and saw his stack vanish, while Sungjin Park also toppled to slightly more than ten blinds after three-bet folding off a short stack.

In the meanwhile, Si-Jin Park has been eliminated and re-entered to start his second bullet of Day 1a with 50 big blinds.

Jong Hoon Lee scored a fortunate double-up when he got it in with A♠ 6♠ versus A♣ Q♥ thanks to the Q♦ T♠ 4♠ 8♣ K♠ runout, which gave him a flush. He then knocked out another opponent in an even bigger pot before a short stack bowed out.

Up next, there was an open raise to 1,500 and a call. Jeong-Wook Kim three-bet to 4,000 and Lee made it 12,000 to go. Only Kim called, but folded when Lee fired a hefty bet of 40,000 on the J♣ 9♦ 4♠ flop.

A short stack got the last 10,700 in the middle with the Q♥ J♦ and Gwongjin Park looked them up with the A♠ K♣ . The board ran out T♣ 8♣ 5♥ 4♠ 4♦ and Park dodged the two live cards and gutshot.

Shortly after, he called the three-bet shove of his table neighbour for 8,700 and was trailing with Q♦ Q♣ versus K♣ K♦ . However, that all changed on the Q♠ 8♣ 6♣ A♥ 2♥ runout as Park sent another opponent to the rail.

Besides Yohan "YoYo" Trens and Team Isabelle's Yejin Kim, another two known figures from South Korea can currently be found in the field. Wonhyo Kim is a famous comedian while Soyoung Ham gathers a big following on YouTube. Both had slightly more than the starting stack at their disposal in the sixth level of the day.

Another headline tournament of this series that kicked off today is the High Roller Event #8 and it has drawn a field of 15 entrants so far. Among them is also none other than Hong Kong's Alan "King Lun" Lau, one of the most well-known poker pros in the Asia-Pacific region.

The tournament has an extended late registration until the start of level 13 and will wrap up tomorrow, giving Lau plenty of time to join the Main Event action on Day 1c or Day 1d if he should run deep in the High Roller.

A♠ far as Day 1a is concerned, there are currently 56 entries with 45 players remaining near the end of level five.

Wongyu Seo raised it up to 1,100 and Noori Na three-bet to 2,000 for Seo to call. On the J♠ 6♦ 2♥ flop, Seo check-called for 2,000 and did so again for 4,000 on the K♠ turn. After the 5♠ river, Seo now bet 13,000. Na went deep into the tank and eventually called but mucked versus 8♠ 7♠ for a flush.

Yoonseok Choi had only entered not long ago and squeezed to 6,200 preflop soon after sitting down. One single caller later, the flop came 9♣ 8♥ 7♥ and the action checked to Choi. He pushed all-in near instantly and once forcing a fold, he raked in the pot with a smirk on the face.

Three ways to the 8c7s2c flop, one player in the blinds check-folded while Yejin Kim called a bet of 1,500. She then faced a bet of 7,600 on the 7♣ turn by her table neighbour and moved all-in, earning an instant call.

Kim's 2♦ 2♥ had a lock on the hand versus 4♣ 3♣ for a flush and the 7♦ river was only a formality to give Kim the best possible start.

Yoshio Yamamura from Japan had been the early chip leader but the last hour has not been very kind for him. He first tangled with a table neighbour, then doubled another late entrant and now got involved in three-way action in a min-raised pot.

On the 8♣ 8♦ 4♦ flop, he called a bet of 1,200 by the initial raiser. That led them to the Q♠ turn on which Yamamura raised a bet of 2,700 to 6,500, prompting a call. After the Q♥ river, Yamamura checked behind and was shown A♠ Q♣ for a superior full house, flashing his 8♣ for flopped trips.

Nearing the end of the fourth level of the Main Event Day 1a, the High Roller Side Event has taken off while the attendance in the marquee tournament is also slowly picking up. There are now five tables in play with up to 45 total entries and 41 players are remaining.

Won Beom Seo raised to 800 in the cutoff and Yoo Young Jin called in the next seat, both blinds folded. On the 8♠ 7♦ 5♠ flop, both checked. Seo bet the K♥ turn for 1,500 and the 7♥ river was checked.

Seo showed A♣ 9♦ but Jin had that beat with the K♣ 4♣ for a pair of kings.

Three ways to the A♦ K♣ 8♥ flop, the action was checked and the same also applied for the K♥ turn. After the T♥ river, Noori Na bet 1,200. Jeongmin Kim called in the next seat and the third player in the hand folded.

Na's A♠ 2♠ had been ahead on the flop, but Kim won the pot with K♦ Q♣ for trips.

French chess player Yohan Trens had seen his stack go up and down like a roller coaster in the opening two hours and he won the last hand prior to the break to leap back above what he started with.

Trens bet the J♠ 9♦ 8♥ 6♦ turn for 4,000 and his opponent check-called. They checked the K♦ river and Trens' A♦ J♥ beat J♣ T♠ in showdown.

Upon completion of the first three levels, an opening field of 34 entries has been cut down to 30 contenders and they are now on a scheduled 15-minute break.

In a three-way pot to the 8♠ 5♥ 2♣ flop, Soobin Chun bet 7,000 and forced two folds.

A few hands later, he took on another opponent in the final hand of the level. They were on the K♣ T♥ 3♣ 4♣ Q♦ river on which Chun bet 5,000. His opponent called but mucked in disgust when he was shown J♦ 9♦ for a rivered gutshot.

Yeojin Yoon had chipped up in a previous hand and then called a raise, as did Jungeun Park. Yoon check-called Park's bet on the K♣ Q♦ 3♥ flop and did so again for 2,200 on the K♥ turn. The third check-call for 3,000 followed on the 9♠ river and Park flipped over the K♠ J♣ for trips kings as the winning hand.

Yohan Trens reraised to 3,200 in the big blind and then called a squeeze to 9,200 by Yitaek Choi from an early position. Trens check-called the J♦ J♠ T♠ flop for 3,300 and they opted to check down the 7♠ turn as well as the T♦ river.

The French player revealed Q♣ Q♥ but Choi had that beat with the A♥ A♠ .

French chess player Yohan Trens was in the big blind and bet the flop Q♦ 7♦ 5♥ for 3,000 to earn one caller. The small blind was in the tank for a long time and eventually, the clock was called on him. No call followed and both Trens as well as his opponent checked down the 3♥ turn as well as the J♠ river.

Trens showed the T♠ 7♠ for a pair of tens, which was good enough to scoop the pot.

Three ways to the A♥ Q♦ 6♣ 3♣ turn, Jeong-Wook Kim bet 2,500 and was called only by Sungjin Park. Kim checked the J♥ on the river and instantly folded when Park bet 10,000.

Following an open raise to 500 and one caller, Mayuko Takata defended her big blind. She check-called a bet of 700 on the K♣ 9♣ 4♦ flop and another 600 on the 8♠ turn. Takata checked the 4♠ on the river and her two opponents checked behind. She showed T♣ 6♣ for a missed straight and flush draw, which is beaten by the initial raiser's J♠ 8♣ .

There are currently 21 players involved in the action after around one hour of play and some foreign players have made their way to "The Platz". French chess player Yohan Trens is among them and Japan's Mayuko Takata can also be found over on table seven as well.

With 1,900 in the middle to the 10d 9♦ 4♣ flop, Jeong-Wook Kim bet 2,000 and earned a caller on the button. He then bumped it up to 10,000 on the turn with slightly more than that behind and his opponent tank-folded, showing the A♠ K♥ face-up for everybody to see.

The first level has come to an end with the number of tables in play increasing from one to three, as there are now 20 players registered. New blinds are 100-200 with a big blind ante of 200 and none of the participants has been eliminated so far.

Sungmin Kim raised to 500 in the cutoff and Minwoo Park defended the big blind. On the Q♥ T♣ 7♣ flop, Park check-called for the same 500 before they checked down the J♦ 2♠ runout on turn and river. Park showed the 7♠ 5♣ but Kim had the superior pair with the K♥ T♠ .

Picking up the action with the turn showing Q♦ J♣ 4♠ 6♦ , Yoo Young Jin checked over to Soobin Chun and then called a bet of 1,800. He checked again the A♦ on the river and Chun now bet 3,200 and that won the pot without resistance.

On the river of a Q♦ Q♥ 9♣ 7♥ J♥ board, Minwoo Park bet 1,300 when checked to by Baek Jin Choi and the latter called. Kim revealed the A♠ 7♠ for turned two pair but Choi had him pipped with the K♦ J♠ to get things rolling on Day 1a.

Cards were scheduled to go in the air at 11 a.m. local time but the staff announced that Day 1a will only kick off when there are at least five players registered. It took around ten minutes for this to happen and the first five entrants are now seated, most of which are from South Korea.

The registration for each Day 1 is open until the start of level ten, at which time all those jumping in at the last minute would begin their journey with twenty big blinds and a dream. There is also a turbo heat 1d with a level reduced duration of 20 minutes each that will run alongside the last regular heat as well.

Each of the Day 1 flights plays down to the top 15% of the field and all survivors bag up their chips for the night, all having locked up a cash prize. One table away from the money, a shot clock will be introduced and this shot clock will then also be in place as of Day 2 until a winner has been crowned.

On the penultimate tournament day, the level duration increases to 50 minutes each before culminating in 60-minute levels for the final table. Redraws take place prior to Day 2, on the final three and two tables as well as for the final table. For heads-up and if a deal has been made, the levels will be reduced to 30 minutes each.
