Minh Thang Tran has been crowned the RDPT Jeju Prestige Super High Roller Champion, outlasting a field of 26 entries to claim $153,500, along with the Red Dragon Trophy, Jacket and Diamond Bracelet. The Vietnamese player produced one of the more remarkable runs of the series, surviving multiple all-in confrontations across two days, tripling up from the felt on the final table, and overcoming a near 4:1 chip deficit during heads-up play to seal the title. The win pushes him comfortably past the half-million mark for total live earnings.
Huu Dung Nguyen, who was the dominant force throughout Day 2 and entered heads-up with a commanding chip lead, takes home $178,000 courtesy of the ICM deal struck before play resumed.

Shortly after his victory, Min Tang Tran sat down to reflect on a career-defining performance. “Honestly, I didn’t expect that I could win this, but sometimes it just happens, you know,” he said. “I’m really happy and I don’t know how to express myself, to be honest. I made the decision [to go pro] by myself, mostly, and this is my biggest achievement—best live cash, for sure”.
Tran credited his support system for keeping him grounded during the high-stakes battle. “I want to say thank you to my best friend, Nguyen Le, and to my wife who was here on the rail always supporting me,” he said. When asked if his wife's presence added to the weight of the moment, Tran noted his ability to lock in. “When I’m playing on the table, I just kind of forget everything. It’s just me, the chips, and the person I’m playing with. But after that, I realized, okay, I succeeded”.
Despite the massive $20,000 USD price tag on the Super High Roller, Tran remained unfazed by the numbers. “For me, every tournament is almost the same. Even if I play the lowest one, it’s still the same for me—no pressure,” he explained. “I just do my best and try to perform my best. I don’t really care about the buy-ins”.

The path to the trophy required significant adjustments, particularly as a “one-to-four underdog” entering the final table. Tran pointed to a pivotal heads-up hand where he rivered the nut flush against trips as the ultimate turning point. “Because of that moment, I had a chance to play with him in a more comfortable way,” he said. He also highlighted a daring king-high river bluff that forced a fold from his opponent's bottom pair. “I decided to pull out a massive bluff on the river. He finally folded... it was very tough to call, to be honest”.
Tran also praised the event's deep structure, which he felt allowed for higher-level play. “The structure is long, it’s very deep. You can perform your skills. It’s better to play deep-stack for me, so I prefer this field,” he said. “Forty-minute levels, sometimes sixty—it’s a must-play for me”.
When asked what advice he would give to the next generation of players looking to follow in his footsteps, Tran emphasized resilience. “Focus on trying to make the best move. And if you are wrong, you are learning something too,” he said. “Don’t hesitate to make your decision. Even if you fail, you stand up and you do it again. Just keep doing it”.
The $20,000 buy-in event drew 26 entries across two days, with Day 1 beginning at Level 7 as players filtered through from the Championship event. Overnight chip leader Khoa Anh Ngo set the pace from the off, amassing 3,360,000 chips to close Day 1 well clear of the field. Tony Ren Lin and Yita Choong sat second and third respectively, while Nguyen Le, Vietnam's all-time leading money earner, and Biao Ding also made it through to Day 2.
Day 2 began with 12 players returning from Level 15, playing down to a winner. The early action was eventful. Anton Lu survived a flip against Xiaqing Ji after an ace on the river gave him a pair of aces on a board that had looked bleak. Ngo continued his dominance, eliminating Joseph Cheong in clinical fashion when his pocket aces filled up on the turn against Cheong's pocket nines, leaving him drawing dead.
Khoa Anh Ngo was a dominant force for much of the dayNgo came to the nine-handed table with 5,280,000, nearly a third of chips in play, with Nguyen and Lin the next closest challengers. Tran sat ninth in chips with just 600,000.
Eliminations came steadily once the final table was underway. Ji was the first to go, his ace-five unable to overcome Lin's Big Slick, with Lin scooping the pot and moving further up the counts.
Choong's exit was as dramatic as any hand of the day. He doubled through Ngo when his pocket aces held against his ace-nine, only to bust the very next hand when his pocket threes ran into Tran's pocket nines, with Tran flopping a set to end his run in eighth place.
Le, who had earlier been left with less than one big blind after a kings-versus-ace-queen cooler against Nguyen, somehow tripled up to stay alive when his queen-nine rivered a straight against Xiangyu Yu's flopped set of tens. The reprieve was short-lived, however, Le was eventually eliminated in seventh when his ace-eight couldn't improve against Nguyen's pocket sevens, with a seven on the turn leaving him drawing dead. William Jia followed in sixth, his king-jack unable to hold against Tran's ace-queen, with a queen on the river sealing his fate.
The Final FourLin's elimination on the five-handed bubble was a pivotal moment of the day. Lin shoved 1,800,000 with king-five suited and ran into Nguyen's Big Slick. No help arrived on the runout, and Lin was eliminated in fifth place, bursting the money bubble and putting the remaining four players in the cash.
Ngo, who had dominated for much of the two days, was the first casualty in the money. He got it in with ace-six against compatriot Nguyen's ace-three, flopped a six to surge ahead, but the three-three turn and river gave Nguyen running trips to eliminate the overnight chip leader in fourth place in one of the cruelest hands of the tournament.
Yu followed in third; Yu's pocket sevens were ahead of Nguyen's ace-four, but a four on the flop and an ace on the turn left him drawing to two outs. The five on the river was not one of them, leaving the two Vietnamese to battle it out for the title.
Xiangyu YuAn ICM deal was struck before heads-up began, with Nguyen locking up $178,000 and Tran securing $137,500, leaving $16,000 and the title still to play for. Nguyen held a commanding 4:1 chip advantage at the start of play.

Tran refused to go quietly. He won a key early pot when he jammed the river on a diamond-heavy board and Nguyen called, only for Tran to table ace-ten of diamonds for the nut flush against Nguyen's trip fives. Shortly after, Tran forced a fold from Nguyen with a well-timed river jam, further swinging the momentum. After just a few hands, Nguyen's advantage completely evaporated, and it was now Tran who looked like the favourite.
The final hand saw Nguyen get it in with ace-queen against Tran's king-jack. Nguyen was ahead and looked set to reassert control, but the four-deuce-ten-queen board gave Tran an open-ended straight draw, and the ace on the river completed it; a cruel river for Nguyen, and a euphoric one for Tran, locking up the title and a career-best cash of $153,500.

Minh Thang Tran After surviving multiple all-in confrontations, short-stack doubles and triples, and overcoming a 4:1 chip deficit during heads-up play, Minh Thang Tran has completed a remarkable comeback to claim the RDPT Jeju Prestige Super High Roller title. The Vietnamese player takes home $153,500 *(ICM-agreed $137,500 + $16,000), along with the Red Dragon Trophy, Jacket and Diamond Bracelet.
Congratulations, Minh Thang Tran!
