Held Holds His Ground to Claim Super U Challenge Title

Germany's Konstantin Held has claimed the Super U Challenge title at RDPT Plus Jeju 2026, topping a 108-entry field to take home over $200,000 and the full set of Red Dragon prizes: the Jacket, Trophy, and Diamond Bracelet. Held is no stranger to winning on the Asian circuit, having claimed the inaugural WPT Cambodia Championship in 2024 for $361,310, and owns a WSOP bracelet to his name from an online Mini Main Event victory. This result adds another significant title to a rapidly growing resume, with total live earnings now well north of $1.8 million.

Runner-up Toan Chan Truong put in the performance of his career to reach the final two. The Vietnamese pro came into the event with a best live cash of just over $100,000 and total earnings of around $734,000, making his six-figure payday here in Jeju comfortably the biggest result of his career. He battled heads-up for around 15 minutes before his king-nine ran into Held's ace-four, who flopped trip aces to seal the title.

Third place went to China's Yayun Liu, who continues to cement his reputation as one of the more dangerous players on the circuit. With over $1.7 million in career earnings and a $1,702,088 GGPoker WSOP Super Circuit victory just weeks ago, Liu's 3rd place finish here is yet another deep run in a remarkable recent stretch.

Day 2 Action

Registration closed after the second level of the day, and there was an eventual prize pool of $783,600 with 17 places paid. The eliminations came quickly in the early levels; Biao Ding falling to Liu when a king on the turn flipped the hand, Yuhang Liu running ace-king into his namesake's jack-ten only to see a flush develop on the turn, and Dylan Foster bricking a straight draw against Ding shortly after registration closed.

Tony Lin made his customary vibrant entrance to the field, confident that "Lady Gaga" would deliver. And for a moment it seemed she might, flopping top two pair with ace-queen against Xu Wang's pocket sixes. But a two-outer set on the turn sent the crowd favourite to the rail around seven spots from the money.

Japan's Yoko Sasaki had returned as the overnight chip leader, having navigated the opening day with composure and built one of the biggest stacks in the field. She remained a consistent presence deep into the final day, cashing well, before eventually exiting in 11th place.

Hand-for-hand commenced at 19 players following Haohui Ma's elimination of Hao Chuang, queens over jacks. The bubble proved a marathon affair, with Ranno Sootla, Christian Harder, and Wang all battling desperately short. Harder survived multiple crucial spots, making a full house on the turn in one hand and the second nut flush in another, while Wang tripled up in a three-way all-in to stay alive.

Sootla, however, was not so fortunate. After "GTO folding" his big blind, he was blinded all-in in the small blind with queen-eight, only for Ma's king-nine to hold on a low runout. It was the second time this series the Estonian had taken on the unwanted role of bubble boy in a High Roller event.

Harder, Dong Chen, Ryan Plant, and Chengxu Hu all hit the rail in quick succession once the money was reached, before Qiang Liu fell in 13th and Ma in 12th; Ma getting his chips in dominated with ace-queen against Wang's pocket aces with no miracle forthcoming. Guoliang Wei's exit bubbled the final table, his king-nine no match for Held's ace-four, which flopped two pair and improved to a full house on the river.

Liu entered the final table as the commanding chip leader with 8,325,000, almost double Held's 5,175,000 in second. Nguyen Le fell first in 9th, his ace-queen unable to overcome Wang's pocket eights on a low runout. Nevan Chang followed in 8th, picking a bad spot with ace-seven against Truong's ace-jack, the better kicker holding to send Chang to the rail.

Minh Thang Tran's exit in 7th came when his queen-nine ran into Truong's nine-seven: the seven on the flop doing the damage, with the runout changing nothing. Zhongcai Peng followed in 6th, open-shoving king-ten into Held's pocket eights, finding no help on the low runout as Held continued to accumulate.

Nevan Chang (7th)

By five-handed play, Held had surged to 14,000,000 and firmly held the chip lead, with Liu now the shortest stack at just 1,500,000. Wang fell in 5th, his pocket eights running into Truong's king-nine on a king-nine flop, finding no reprieve by the river. Yuhan Liu departed in 4th, his king-ten no match for Held's pocket kings, the hand going the way it was always likely to once the cards were on their backs.

Despite entering the final table as chip leader, Yayun Liu's stack had dwindled significantly by the time he got his last chips in with ten-four against Held's pocket kings. He picked up a flush draw on the flop but bricked the river, ending what had been an impressive deep run in 3rd place.

Heads-Up

Held took a roughly 2.5:1 chip lead into heads-up against Truong, and the cards continued to favour the German. In one telling hand, both players made a pair of jacks on the river: Held holding queen-jack, Truong jack-six, and Truong lost a chunk of chips, the deck once again refusing to cooperate when he needed it most.

He eventually got his last chips in with king-nine against Held's ace-four, the flop delivering trip aces and leaving Truong drawing almost dead. Truong departs with a career-best result and over $130,000 for his efforts, whilst Held comes out on top and claims the Super U Challenge title.

Harder survived multiple crucial moments, making two pair and improving to a full house on the turn in one hand, and the second nut flush in another to stay alive. Xu tripled up in a three-way all-in, his jack the best hand on a four-heart board.

Sootla was not so fortunate. After GTO folding his big blind, he was blinded all-in in the small blind with queen-eight, looking to potentially chop the min-cash with Xu at the time. Haohui Ma's king-nine held on the low runout, however, sending the Estonian to the rail as bubble boy in cruel fashion. It is the second time this series that Sootla has taken on that unwanted role in a High Roller event.

Earlier this year at the inaugural Triton ONE festival here in Jeju, Sasaki became the first Japanese player to win a Triton-branded live event, topping a 169-entry field in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold'em Eight-Max to take home $69,000, her first recorded live tournament score.

Sasaki started the day with a substantial 1,471,000-chip stack, and whilst she has slipped back to around the 1,100,000 mark, she is still sitting comfortable above average and remains a firm contender for the title today.
