China's Jieming Xu has been crowned the Champion of the Red Dragon Championship, outlasting a total field of 931 entrants, and a challenging final table to claim the title and the lion's share of a KRW 3,217,536,000 (~USD 2,193,111) prize pool. The result is comfortably the biggest of Xu's career, surpassing his previous best of $90,366, and announces him as a serious force on the Asian high-stakes circuit.
Christian Harder, who battled brilliantly throughout and held the chip lead entering heads-up play, takes home the runner-up title, plus KRW 400,000,000 (USD 270,467) after the pair struck an ICM deal before the conclusion, with KRW 38,000,000 and the title still to play for.

Overnight chip leader Yunchao Yu arrived at the final table with 26,800,000, nearly a third of chips in play, and looked every inch the favourite. Naohiro Matsuda sat second with 17,400,000, while Harder was the short stack of the group with just 1,925,000.
The first elimination came quickly. Zuyou Wang called off his last chips from the cutoff with nine-eight suited against Wei Sun's pocket nines in the small blind, and bricked the runout to exit in ninth place. Guoliang Wei followed in eighth, shoving with pocket fives only to run into Xu's pocket jacks. No five arrived and Wei was eliminated.
Harder, despite his short stack, wasted little time making his presence felt. Yu open-jammed the button and Harder called off his remaining chips in the big blind with ace-king against Yu's pocket fives. Harder picked up a gutshot on the flop and the turn completed Broadway, leaving Yu drawing dead and shipping Harder a crucial double. Yu would extend the same courtesy a second time when Harder called Yu's turn jam with top pair, improving to trips on the river against Yu's bluff.
Zehao LiZehao Li's exit was one of the most brutal of the day. Li snap-called Yu's four-bet shove with pocket aces and led on the flop, only for the turn to deliver a set to Yu with pocket kings. The river completed the brutal board and Li was gone in seventh, sending shockwaves through the rail.
Ivan Karatayeu followed in sixth, his pocket jacks unable to hold against Sun's pocket queens, bricking the runout. Matsuda's exit in fifth set up a key shift in momentum. Matsuda moved in with king-jack after Xu had fired on the flop, but Xu's ace-king well ahead and the runout ended Matsuda's run.
Sun was eliminated in a dramatic three-way pot in fourth. Harder shoved from the small blind, Sun called off his stack with pocket tens and Xu called with king-queen. The board had Sun firmly in front until the ace on the river gave Harder a crucial triple and sent Sun to the rail. Yu, who had dominated for much of the day, was the next casualty. He got it in with ace-jack against Xu's king-ten on the flop, but the king on the river gave Xu top pair and ended the Chinese pro's run in third place, leaving Harder and Xu to battle it out for the title.
Heads UpHeads up lasted around five hours, during which time the two players exchanged stacks multiple times. Whilst Harder started with the advantage, Xu won a key pot when he rivered the nut flush, and then chipped away steadily through a series of smaller pots to build his own advantage. Harder fought back, reclaiming the lead with a rivered pair of eights, before Xu retook control once more by rivering a straight and forcing a fold.
With Xu holding a commanding 2:1 lead, Harder appeared to have a lifeline when the two got it in on the flop with ace-queen against ace-jack. The runout denied Xu the win and sent the chips back to Harder. Xu then doubled through when his ace-jack connected on the flop against Harder's pocket sixes, swinging the momentum back in his favour. A subsequent pot looked set to hand Harder the title when he held a dominating ace on a board with two pair, only for the hand to be cruelly chopped, keeping Xu alive at a pivotal moment.
From there, it was a simple war of attrition. The final hand saw Harder get it in short with ace-five suited against Xu's ace-ten. The flop left Harder with flush outs, but the runout couldn't deliver for the American and Xu claimed the win.

Jieming XuJieming Xu has won the RDPT Jeju Plus Championship, defeating Christian Harder heads-up to claim the title and KRW 508,000,000 (~USD 343,475). A full recap will follow shortly.
