Okada Micro (4,500 PHP)

Flight B of the inaugural Okada Micro attracted a slightly larger crowd than the opener with 121 entries across ten levels of late registration. With the blinds climbing at a faster pace and even faster once reg closed, the flight completed in just over six hours with Taiwan's Li Ming Liu delivering the bubble, and in turn, bagged up the largest stack of 442,000 (36 bb).

The final hand saw Paul Casilla risk his last 3 bb with 8♥ 7♠ that could not get by Liu's A♣ K♠ which further improved (though not needed) to quads kings on a board K♣ 3♥ J♥ K♦ K♥ .

Ruzzel Jose also advanced with a big stack part of which came from a very lucky two-outer with T♠ T♥ on a board 2♥ T♣ 2♣ 6♠ 7♦ to bust Soshi Yoshida's J♦ J♠ . He bagged up 357,000 (30 bb).

Other notables securing a spot in the money stage are Karen Talamayan, Ashley Patterson, and Tony Khoang. The survivors have a couple of night's rest as they await the results of the next two flights. They return on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 12pm where they will race to the first Okada Micro title.

From early position, Paul Vincent Casilla got dealt 8♥ 7♠ and decided to risk it all with just 37,000 (3 bb) behind. Big stacked Li Ming Liu however looked down at A♣ K♠ and three-bet all in for 375,000 to successfully isolate.

When the board came down, it highly favored Liu as it spread K♣ 3♥ J♥ K♦ K♥ for a dramatic quads to end the flight.

With a few clubs turning up on the board, Pang's risk paid off with a flush keeping him from becoming the bubble.

The field is now down to the 16 players which means it's bubble time with only 15 players assured a spot in the money round.

The flop quickly improved Jose to a boat that went sailing through the rest of the board to drown Soshi's higher pockets.

It was nearly the end for Lee with no help coming until the river opens an ace. Lee lands a higher pair to double up.

We missed the action but Li Ming Liu has doubled up and now sits with 410,000.

With Seung drawing for a diamond, the turn 5♠ gave less hope that still found it on the river 2♦ to survive the showdown.

The turn 6♥ and river 2♥ changes nothing to end Fukuyama's day as Patterson rakes it in.

Ybarsabal quickly improves to a flush at the flop, Lee turns the straight but it has no impact being behind the flush, then the river sends the table in shock as Lee spikes a rare royal flush to stay in the running and burn Ybarsabal's flush.

Winifred Obedoza is down to 55,000 (9 bb) and quickly moves all in from under the gun holding Q♥ Q♦ . Despite the beauty cards, to his immediate left, Benhur Ybarsabal looks down at K♠ K♥ and calls. With no other takers, the cards flip open and the board runs 4♦ 7♠ J♥ 8♣ J♣ . Obedoza fails to improve and packs up to go.

Chip leader Karen Talamayan looks down at A♠ Q♠ and raises to 16,000. She is called by hijack then big blind Ruzzel Jose three-bets all in for 148,000 after seeing A♣ K♦ in the hole. Talamayan calls as hijack gets out of the way. The board ensures the better hand wins as it runs 3♣ K♥ 4♠ K♠ 4♣ . Jose zooms to 315000 and takes the lead.

The shove proves a correct decision as Pang finds the board and doubles up with a pair.

Sun quickly finds the fop to further improve to a pair, then gets burned by the turn and river that fills up Princesa to a straight.

Revilla is ahead with two pair and sees no change on the turn A♠ but with the river A♦ , his hand is burned by a higher two pair on the board. Fukuyama's queen kicker plays for a lucky double up.

Three players in a limped pot see the flop land 2♣ J♠ 8♣ where action picks up with a bet of 3500 from Ruzzel Jose. Paul Casilla calls then button Hernan Villa raises 14,500 which finds no callers.

On the next hand, Villa goes all in for 54,000, three spots over small blind Yukitaka Todate calls with less (40,000). Villa shows A♣ 5♠ , Todate is made with 9♠ 9♥ which holds on a board running 8♦ 3♥ J♦ J♥ T♣ .

At the runout, Victorino gets the boot while Revilla and Patterson chop up the pot.

Just announced, 15 players are guaranteed a spot in the money round. There are currently 37 players remaining.

At the final showdown against Arango, Talamayan is ahead and with the river 5♦ , she ships the rest of pot and eliminates Arango.

Idnani connects with the board for top pair but is still sent to the rail with Abesamis also improving to a set.

Three players have built a pot of 16,500 and take the bout to the flop T♥ K♠ 8♥ . Two checks to the button Marlon Laxamana who tests the waters with a 10,500 bet. Big blind Winifred Obedoza answers with a big check-raise all in, Allan Daypuyart and Laxamana let him have the pot.

Paul Vincent Casilla kicks off the hand with a 3500 raise from under the gun. Action folds to the button Ruzzel Jose who calls and the big blind Edwin Dela Cruz makes it a three-way.

No action on the flop 5♠ 5♦ 2♠ and the turn is dealt 3♣ . Cruz decides to give it a try for 4000, Casilla calls, then Jose makes it 12,000. Cruz and Casilla opt to fold to send a decent pot to Jose.

From the big blind, Ashley Patterson sees A♣ 8♠ and three-bets it all amounting to 22,500. Action back to the button Nay Ye Linn who makes the call with A♦ 2♥ . With the board landing 7♠ T♠ J♣ 6♠ 4♠ , the attempt to rail or split is denied with Patterson's kicker in play to ship a double up.

Battle of the blinds began with a limp from Jesus Rivera and Behnhur Ybarsabal checking for a cheap look at the flop A♦ 7♠ T♦ . Rivera takes control with a 1200 bet and Ybarsabal calls. They head to the turn which comes 9♥ . This time action switches with Ybarsabal betting 3500 and Rivera check-calling. On the river 2♥ , it it is checked again to Ybarsabal, he makes it 5700 to continue, Rivera calls then mucks to Ybarsabal's 9♦ 7♣ two pair.

Heungsub Shim is dealt A♥ jc and with just 14 bb in his arsenal, he moves all in from under the gun. Down the orbit, small blind Yukitaka Todate calls with 16,600 and shows 6♠ 6♣ for a flip. The dealer fans the board 2♣ 3♥ K♦ 7♥ 5♠ , Todate doubles up as Shim plunges to near empty.

Okimoto Kazuya gives it a raise of 2500 from hijack that finds three players to toss in the chips. All four players proceed to check the flop A♣ 4♥ A♥ , then Kazuya bets 5000 on the turn K♣ . Only Wei Jie Lee makes the calls then it is back to checking on the river 3♦ . Lee flips open K♦ 2♣ and that's a winner as Kazuya mucks.

With action folding around to the button Yuki Miyakura who looks down at A♣ Q♥ and raises it up to 2400. Two spots over, big blind Marlon Laxamana likes his 9♠ 8♠ and shoves 21,200. Miyakura isn't going anywhere and can easily afford the price. The board then runs out K♥ T♥ 6♣ 7♠ Q♦ giving Laxamana the straight for a double up.

However, it was not the case for Jay Payuyo's small pair to earn him a double up.

Limping in from hijack, Nay Ye Linn did not hesitate to call button player Ellezer Castillo's 18,000 jam and showed a stunning K♣ K♠ . Castillo had Q♥ 9♠ . With the board running 3♦ 5♦ 5♥ 6♦ 9♣ , Castillo paired up but not enough to get past Linn.

With Flight A in the bag, we jump to Flight B where 107 have entered and registration still open until the start of Level 11. Among the 57 players in field are Edwin Dela Cruz, Ashley Patterson, Kai Yi Sun, Dennis Perpetua, Cristopher Runas, Ellezer Castillo, and Karen Talamayan.
