Main Event (18,500 PHP)

The first of four starting flights has ended in the Manila Super Series ₱18,500 Main Event at Okada Manila. Flight A featured 155 entrants and by the end of the night only 24 players managed to find a bag and advance to Day 2.

David Erquiaga finished the night with the chip lead after bagging 433,000. Erquiaga is most closely followed by Patrick Wahlquist (371,000) while Alex Gelev rounds out the top three with 358,000.

There are still three more starting flights to go. Flight B takes place tomorrow at noon while Flight C takes place on February 8 at noon. Later that evening the final flight, featuring a turbo structure, will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Somuchpoker will be on sight to provide all the action throughout the Main Event.

Alex Gelev opened to 10,000 from the cutoff, Juhoon Chung three-bet to 26,000 from the button and Gelev called. The flop came A♦ T♠ 3♦. Chung bet 16,000, Gelev shoved and Chung folded.

With two players seeing a board of K♦ 2♥ 9♠ 3♣ and 38,000 in the middle Juhoon Chung bet 22,000 from the small blind and Maxwell Rosete called from the big blind. On the 9♦ river Chung checked. Rosete bet 45,000 and Chung folded.

The board gave Chung two pair to send Zhenbo to the rail and claim the last of his chips.

With two players seeing a board of J♦ A♦ T♠ 7♥ 3♦ and 59,000 in the middle William Ysmael bets 48,000 from under the gun. Juhoon Chung went into the tank from the button before folding his hand.

William Ysmael opened to 2,500 from the cutoff, Jeongyeol Yu called from the small blind, Juhoon Chung three-bet to 9,500 from the big blind, Ysmael called and Yu called. The flop came 2♦ 9♠ J♥ and action checked around to Chung who bet 10,000. Both opponents folded and Chung won the pot without showdown.

With two players seeing a board of A♣ 8♠ A♦ 8♣ and 9,200 in the middle, Juhoon Chung checked in the small blind and was challenged by Chirag Shah with a bet of 3,800 from under the gun. Chung called and then led out with a 2,200 bet on the 3♠ river. Shah opted to fold and Chung won the pot without showdown.

A player from the hijack opened to 500, was called by a player in the cutoff and Ma Carmen Esdaile on the button before Juhoon Chung three-bet to 2,500 from the big blind. Only Esdaile called. The flop came 5♦ T♠ A♥ . Chung bet 1,800 and Esdaile didn't continue.
