Main Event (18,500 PHP)

The first of four starting flights has ended in the Manila Super Series ₱18,500 Main Event at Okada Manila. Flight A featured 155 entrants and by the end of the night only 24 players managed to find a bag and advance to Day 2.

David Erquiaga finished the night with the chip lead after bagging 433,000. Erquiaga is most closely followed by Patrick Wahlquist (371,000) while Alex Gelev rounds out the top three with 358,000.

There are still three more starting flights to go. Flight B takes place tomorrow at noon while Flight C takes place on February 8 at noon. Later that evening the final flight, featuring a turbo structure, will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Somuchpoker will be on sight to provide all the action throughout the Main Event.

The runout put a straight on the board but Timofeev’s jacks gave him a higher straight to send Yasuaki to the rail and win the pot.

Timofeev was ahead with top pair and after fading the flush draw on the 3♦ 5♣ runout he doubled up through Taillepierre who was left short-stacked.

Ilia Timofeev opened to 1,100 from under the gun and received calls from Christian Lortie seated directly to his left and a player in the hijack. All three players checked the Q♥ K♦ 2♠ flop leading to the 2♥ turn. Timofeev bet 2,600 and only Lortie called. Timofeev continued for 4,500 on the T♦ river, Lortie moved all in pushing out Timofeev.

With three players seeing a board of 4♦ 9♣ Q♠ T♥ and 2,100 in the middle, Alexander Donn bet 600 from the big blind and Felixberto Legaspi called from early position. Ilia Timofeev raised to 2,200 from the cutoff putting the brakes his opponents.
