Main Event (18,500 PHP)

The first of four starting flights has ended in the Manila Super Series ₱18,500 Main Event at Okada Manila. Flight A featured 155 entrants and by the end of the night only 24 players managed to find a bag and advance to Day 2.

David Erquiaga finished the night with the chip lead after bagging 433,000. Erquiaga is most closely followed by Patrick Wahlquist (371,000) while Alex Gelev rounds out the top three with 358,000.

There are still three more starting flights to go. Flight B takes place tomorrow at noon while Flight C takes place on February 8 at noon. Later that evening the final flight, featuring a turbo structure, will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Somuchpoker will be on sight to provide all the action throughout the Main Event.

Feridoun Farboud opened to 10,000 from under the gun, Andrea Burzio three-bet shoved for 45,000 from the small blind and Farboud called with a covering stack to put Burzio at risk.

The board ran out 4♦ 5♥ A♠ 9♣ 6♣. Burzio remained ahead throughout with the higher pocket pair and he doubled up through Farboud.

The board gives Burzio top pair to win the pot while Magbanua only has ace-high and he makes his exit from the tournament area.

With three players seeing a board of 7♦ K♦ 7♣ and 6,700 in the middle Alvir Inocentes and Feridoun Farboud checked to Jesse Marc Solidum bet 2,000 on early position and both opponents called. Solidum fired again 5,000 when checked to on the A♦ turn and both opponents called again. On the 8♦ river Inocentes jumped out for 3,500, Farboud raised to 10,000 to push out Solidum while Inocentes called. Farboud showed a full house with 8♠ 7♠ and Inocentes mucked.

With two players seeing a board of 8♣ 5♠ 7♦ and a hefty 17,600 already in the middle Feridoun Farboud checked from the hijack and Jesse Marc Solidum checked from the button. Solidum bet 8,000 when checked to on the Q♦ turn and Farboud called. Both players then checked the 4♣ river. Solidum had an overpair with K♥ K♠ but Farboud had him beat with A♠ A♣ to win the pot.
