Main Event (18,500 PHP)

The first of four starting flights has ended in the Manila Super Series ₱18,500 Main Event at Okada Manila. Flight A featured 155 entrants and by the end of the night only 24 players managed to find a bag and advance to Day 2.

David Erquiaga finished the night with the chip lead after bagging 433,000. Erquiaga is most closely followed by Patrick Wahlquist (371,000) while Alex Gelev rounds out the top three with 358,000.

There are still three more starting flights to go. Flight B takes place tomorrow at noon while Flight C takes place on February 8 at noon. Later that evening the final flight, featuring a turbo structure, will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Emmanuel Florendo opened to 11,000 from the cutoff, Craig Jones three-bet to 35,000 from the big blind and Florendo called. At the flop K♠ 7♦ K♣ , Jones fired a 17,000 continuation bet that Florendo called.

Jones checked the 6♦ turn and Florendo bet 40,000. Jones moved all in for 177,000 and Florendo went into the tank before finding a fold.

Martin had a ton of outs with two overcards and the nut-flush draw but he missed all of them when the rest of the board ran out 8♣ 6♠ and was sent to the rail.

With two players seeing a board of T♠ 2♠ J♠ 9♣ and 29,500 in the middle Emmanuel Florendo bet 12,000 from the big blind and William Ysmael raised to 27,000 from the hijack. Florendo called.

Florendo bet 20,000 on the Q♥ river and this time Ysmael just called. Florendo had rivered a straight with J♦ 8♦ and Ysmael mucked his hand.

With two players seeing a board of Q♥ J♣ A♥ 7♦ and 16,800 in the middle Emmanuel Florendo bet 10,500 from the hijack and Siddharth Karia called from the button. Both players then checked the Q♦ river. Florendo showed top pair with A♠ K♠ which was enough to win the pot.

With two players seeing a board of 9♣ 7♠ A♦ K♠ 7♥ and 23,000 in the middle Emmanuel Florendo checked from the big blind and Henry Jun bet 11,100 from the hijack. Florendo called. Henry could only show a missed straight draw with Q♥ J♥ while Florendo had two pair with A♠ 4♣ to win the pot.

Seonghun remained ahead with pocket kings on the runout to score the early knockout and win the pot.
