There was a tremendous turnout for the King's Charity Super High Roller of the King Poker Cup series in the Les A Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World resort, Jeju, South Korea, with 43 players ponying up the USD100,000 entry fee, 14 of who bought another bullet to stay in the running after unfortunate bust outs on the first day for a total of 57 entries.
Nine 40-minute levels were played with 37 players bagging their chips and continue the fight onto Day 2.
Tony Ren Lin, 3rd on the All Time China Money List, was ever his effervescent self, and his energy built him a Great Wall of Chips in the early rounds as well as the chip lead, which he didn't relinquish until the close of action with 1,470,000 logged to his name.
Following close behind is Elton Tsang, with 1,450,000. Elton is a virtual permanent fixture behind his more than USD 27 Milllion in career cash earnings.
Running in 3rd is Lithuanian Gytis Lazavninkas, with 1.3 million in chips, who is hoping that a strong finish at this tournament provides a significant boost to the chronicles of his career earnings.
Xiaobing Wang sits at 4th on top of 1,295,000 in chips.
And rounding out the top 5 is David Miscikowski of San Diego, California, US of A, with 1,255,000. David is recorded to have won more than USD 2.4 million in his professional poker career.
A notable late entry to the tournament was Tom Dwan, who although isn't as accomplished in terms of cash earnings as Tony or Elton, is one of the most popular players on tour, ranked 24th in popularity according to The Hendon Mob.
Other big names present were Bryn Kenney, the world's all-time money leader, Hong Kong sensation Danny Tang, 2025 GPI Player of the Year Punnat Punsri and WSOP bracelet winners Jesse Lonis, Joseph Cheong and Triton Super High Roller Main Event winner David Coleman.
Punsri and Kenney failed to find a bag at the end of Day 1, but they may still have chance to re-enter while registration stays open until the start of Level 11 tomorrow.
