Day 2 of the Korea Poker Cup Main Event started with 149 players taking a seat after the multi qualifiers picked up their bonuses - Hongbo Pan topping that list with three tickets to Day 2 worth an extra KRW 7,500,000 (~$5,258) - and saw almost the maximum 12 levels of play completed when Shuangchun Mou busted in 9th after a preflop all-in with A♣ K♦ against Weiwi Tang's Q♦ Q♣ and a roller coaster board A♥ 3♦ 5♣ Q♥ K♥ that made the Final 8 complete.

Chen Yu Sung bagged the lead after starting the day with 41 BB and first appeared on the leaderboard in 2nd during level 23. From then on, he used his monster stack to bully and knocked out several players along the way which left him with 9,915,000 (99 BB).

2nd in chips Chun Lung Wong started the day as chip leader after dominating Flight D and went on a tear late in the game trading the lead with Chen Yu Sung several times, busting Xiangyu Zhao in 14th and Taiwanese Pro Chi Jen Chu in 10th during the last level. He will start the final day almost equal to the lead with 9,700,000 (97 BB)

Weiwi Tang came in 3rd with 7,220,000 (72 BB), ending the day by eliminating Shuangchun Mou in 9th - adding almost 30 big blinds on the buzzer.

Sin Lan Chen - the last woman standing - is the only one with a medium stack of 39 BB, who will be feeling the ICM pressure the most with four players having 18 BB or less among the Final 8.

The final will begin tomorrow Sunday the 13th of April at 12:30 local.

The flop A♥ 3♦ 5♣ has Tang's heart skip a beat, before going into overdrive on the turn Q♥ that seals Mou's fate of becoming the Final 8 bubble boy and no one cares about the river K♥ anymore.

None of Chu's ten outs show up on the river 2♥ , taking him out of the running and the rest of the field to the final table, although still one knockout short of the official Final 8.

No miracle for Pu on 4♣ and 3♦ leaves us two eliminations away from the final table.

With two bigger pairs on 9♣ 2♥ T♠ 9♥ T♥ Xu's eight loses against Qin's ace.

Everything is looking peachy for Zhao on J♣ A♣ J♦ T♦ before going pear shaped on the river K♦ , giving his opponent a runner runner flush.

Yao Zhao leads 200,000 from +1 and takes cutoff Chen Yu Sung to the flop 8♠ 9♠ T♣ . Yao continues for 200,000 and calls Sung's 500,000 raise. The turn 4♦ has Zhao check-call 700,000 to complete the board 2♥ where Sung fires another 2,000,000 with the aid of a time bank before Zhao folds.

Pu hits trips and doubles up on 8♦ J♦ 8♥ 3♣ 5♣ .

Yikang Xu leads 160,000 from +1, small blind Weiwi Tang wants 460,000 and Xu obliges to see the flop 7♠ 2♠ K♣ where Tang's 325,000 c-bet gets called to reveal the turn K♥ . Tang slows down to a check, but calls after Xu separated 400,000 from his stack. The board completes T♣ , Xu bets 1,000,000 with 6♦ 6♣ and Tang uses a time bank before check-calling with Q♦ Q♣ .

Button Chun Lung Wong opens 160,000, small blind Xiangyu Zhao ups it to 400,000 and calls after Wong four bet 1,000,000 to see the flop 4♥ 3♥ T♣ where Zhao check calls a 350,000 c-bet. The turn 9♦ and river A♠ get checked down with Wong flipping over the winner A♣ 5♣ against Zhao's 8♣ 8♦ .

Yuan Qin gets us going with a min raise from the cutoff and button Yikang Xu flats before big blind Chen Yu Sung lays out the winning bet of 450,000.

Daqiao Jiang opens 160,000 from the button and folds after small blind Yau Xin Chu declared all-in.

Easter comes a week early for Chen on A♣ 5♠ Q♠ 4♣ 7♦ granting her a much needed double up.

After winning the previous hand with a three bet jam, Shuangchun Mou does so again, this time from the cutoff against Chi Jen Chu's 120,000 open out of the hijack.

This classic flip is a sweat until the end on 4♠ 4♣ 2♣ 9♣ 5♣ , giving Zhao a flush on the buzzer.

Right after losing the majority of her stack, Ying Li puts in the remaining 305,000 from under the gun and small blind Yau Xin Chu successfully isolates.

Lights out for Li on A♣ 6♥ 7♦ 3♣ 9♠ and we are down to the last two tables.

Yuan Qin opens 125,000 from the cutoff, but lets it go after former chip leader Sin Lan Chen moved all-in for 895,000.

The flop 8♦ 5♣ 4♣ has Guo still dreaming of a double up before the 7♦ turns it into a nightmare, making the river T♥ nothing more than a formality.

Help does not arrive for Lei Yu on 6♠ 5♣ 9♠ A♦ 7♠ and the field loses another bracelet winner.

No surprises on 4♥ Q♣ 5♦ 8♦ K♠ and a clean double up for Yu still has him on life support.

Under the gun Lei Yu leads 100,000, taking two players to the flop K♣ 4♦ 9♣ where Yu's 110,000 c-bet takes him heads up to the turn 3♥ with Haibo Yang in +1. Two checks complete the board 6♥ where a 60,000 blocker from Yu with 8♣ 8♥ gets called by Yang's top pair K♥ Q♥ .

Chun Lin Fang opens 100,000 from +1 and takes two customers to the flop A♦ K♦ 5♦ where Fang lays out a 200,000 c-bet that gets rid of the button, but countered by a check raise to 500,000 from big blind Daqiao Jiang. Fang folds, losing one time bank in the process.

Hijack Xiangyu Zhao makes it 100,000 and Chi Jen Chu defends big blind to see the flop 9♦ K♣ J♠ that gets checked to the turn 7♦ . Chu check-calls 80,000 for the river 5♥ to drop where he does so again for 280,000 and mucks after seeing Zhao flip over A♥ K♥ .

No help for the underdog on J♣ J♥ 3♥ 6♦ J♦ evens out the big stacks on table 3.

The board completes 3♠ and 4♥ , sending Bo Jin home.

The flop T♠ 5♣ 2♣ gives Yu two more outs before hitting the A♥ on the turn , scooping the pot when the river hits 9♦ which leaves Bo Jin with less than 3 BBs.

After a 400,000 open and no callers two hands prior, Bo Jin speaks up again, this time in the big blind with a 200,000 three-bet after Xiangyu Zhao raised to 85,000. Zhao calls, but lets it go when Jin fires another 130,000 on the flop 9♥ 3♠ 2♣ .

No miracle for Kao on T♠ J♣ 5♦ 8♠ Q♠ takes us one step closer to the Final 8.

Zhang gets outflopped on A♥ K♥ J♦ and can't improve when the board completes 4♥ and 7♠ .

Yumiba can't improve on T♦ J♠ 7♣ 5♥ T♣ and grants the remaining 32 players a pay jump to KRW 6,010,000 (~$4,213).

Under the gun Jiabao Lin kicks off the action with a 60,000 raise and takes two players to the flop 4♥ J♦ Q♣ . Checked To Chi Jen Chu on the button, 100,000 slide over the line and only big blind Chi Jen Chen fills up to see the turn 2♠ where Chen check-calls another 225,000. Chu jams 495,000 on the river 7♦ to scoop the pot.

Weiran Pu limps from the small blind, Chi Jen Chu makes it 100,000 and calls after Pu upped it to 275,000 to see the flop 3♥ 4♥ 9♣ . Pu spends a time bank before continuing for 175,000, Chu uses one of his own time banks before raising to 400,000, but snap folds when he is faced with Pu's massive jam.

None of the three remaining aces show up for Li on the river 9♦ , giving Mou some breathing room.

No help for Yang on 6♥ 5♦ J♠ Q♥ 5♥ and his tournament is over.

The remaining 34 players have a KRW 5,200,000 (~$3,645) payday secured, but everyone will be gunning for a final table appearance and the chance to become new champion, worth KRW 216,500,000 (~$152,345) and bragging rights until the next 2025 KPC Series Event from June 17-23 2025 here at the beautiful Landing Casino.

Digging for three outs, Guo finds one right away on 6♣ 5♥ 9♠ K♦ 9♥ which takes him out of the danger zone for now.

Cutoff Xiaolu Yang makes it 55,000 and calls after small blind Daqiao Jiang pumped it to 165,000 and lays eyes on the flop 8♥ 8♦ 3♦ where Jiang's all-in ends the hand.
