The KPC Super High Roller Single Day Event drew 107 entries (71 unique), creating a prize pool of USD 960,100, just shy of the seven-figure mark. After fourteen hours of play, the field was reduced to one, with China’s Dong Chen emerging as champion and taking home USD 240,100 for his efforts.

Chen is a seasoned high-stakes regular with more than USD 3.3 million in live earnings. Ranked 20th on China’s all-time money list, he has built a reputation for consistency across major series including WSOP, WPT, and Triton. This win marks his biggest cash of 2025 and his first outright win of the year.

Rounding out the podium, China's Yi Liu finished second for USD 160,000, while Australia's Alan Zheng took third place, earning USD 110,000.

Bubbling

The bubble came after ten hours of play, around midnight local time. Hand-for-hand play began with 18 players remaining, and there were several short-stack double-ups as players tried to survive into the money. The bubble finally burst when Renhao Feng moved all in with pocket sevens, only to be called by Dingxiang Ong holding queens. Ong’s hand held, knocking Feng out and officially sending the remaining players into the payouts.

Final Table Action

Chen started the final table as the chip leader with 7,700,000 in chips, but his early dominance didn’t last. A pivotal clash saw his pocket jacks fall to Yi Liu’s ace-king, which connected for trips, dropping Chen to around 2,000,000. He kept his composure, doubling through Dingxiang Ong when his ace-queen held against Ong’s ace-jack, and later surviving another key pot against Liu with a higher straight. These crucial hands kept him alive deep into the night.

Xiaoyu Li (5th)

By the time the final six were reached, Chen was fourth in chips with 4,000,000, behind Liu, who led with 9,300,000. He regained the lead after making triple jacks against Liu and eliminated Xiaoyu Li in fifth place. Chen continued his push, knocking out Yandong Guo in fourth when his ace-king paired a king against Guo’s ace-queen, and then eliminating Alan Zheng in third with his pocket eights holding. This left him with a serious chip advantage going into heads-up play.

Heads-Up Play

Heads-up play began with Chen holding the chip lead, leaving Liu with a small mountain to climb. Liu stayed in good spirits, looking for a spot to chip back. On the second hand, Liu moved all in with five‑three suited and Chen called with queen‑six suited. Both players held spades, and so when the board ran T♦ 2♠ 9♠ K♠ 2♦, giving both players a flush, Chen’s higher spade flush held, giving him the win and the title.
