On the river of a 8♠ 7♦ 6♣ 6♥ 9♦ river, John Perry in the hijack bet 165,000 into a pot of around 185,000. Kyung Min Lee on the button reluctantly called and was shown the T♥ T♠ by Perry.

"Very good river," Aleksei Istomin said and then added "you were cooked on the turn".

"There is never a better feeling than getting there on the river," Perry exclaimed.

Wengang Wang opened to 5,000 from under the gun and found one caller in Shota Nakanishi on the button.

Nakanishi called a 5,000 bet from Wang on the 4♥ 2♥ J♣ flop and then bet 12,000 after being checked to on the 2♣ turn. Wang called.

Neither player bet on the 4♠ river and Wang turned over 3♣ 3♦. Nakanishi couldn't beat it and sent his cards into the muck.

Noda Snaps Off Sugita's Bluff With Two Pair

Daisuke Sugita opened to 5,000 from the hijack and called a three-bet of 13,000 from Hiroyuki Noda, who was on the button.

Sugita check-called a 7,000 bet from Noda on the K♠ 3♥ 6♥ flop and an 18,000 bet from Noda on the 9♥ turn.

However, Sugita then led out for 40,000 after the 4♠ filled out the board and Noda quickly called.

Sugita tabled A♥ J♠ for just ace-high and Noda revealed 4♦ 3♦ for a rivered two pair to claim the pot.

"You call anyways, right?" John Perry chimed in. "Brick river, you still call."

Noda could only laugh in response as he collected the pot.

The other two tables had already gone on their first 15-minute break as one larger pot was unfolding on table three.

With the flop reading A♦ 7♥ 3♠, Wengang Wang bet 7,000 and then called a raise to 20,000 by Shota Nakanishi. He check-called the K♥ turn for 60,000 and checked the 6♥ river.

Nakanishi fired a bet of 125,000 for almost his entire stack and Wang used one time bank before he called. Nakanishi tabled the 6♣ 6♦ for a rivered set of sixes and Yifu He instantly said "woah, nice river".

"Lucky river," Nakanishi smirked.

All the meanwhile, tablemate John Perry was trying to encourage players at the table to do a round of "straddles" (or just a blind preflop min-raise in the context of the tournament). However, not everyone at the table was convinced to participate.

While the hand was going on, fellow Aussie Dylan Foster was speaking to Martin Sedlak - testing his German skills - and inquired when Sedlak had arrived and whether or not he had any jetlag.

"What is the German word for Jetlag?" he asked.

"Jetlag," Sedlak replied. Some words are just not translated after all.

Foster then started singing, which is one of the trademark features of the very jovial Aussie.

Welcome to the APT Incheon 2026 Super High Roller

The action is heating up early into the Asian Poker Tour Incheon 2026 festival with the High Roller tournaments set to attract a very diverse field for one of the most expensive tournaments on the schedule inside of the lavish Paradise City Resort in proximity to the Seoul Incheon International Airport.

With a price tag of KRW 15M (~USD 10,200), the APT Incheon 2026 Super High Rolleris one of the flagship tournaments to look out for on the festival calendar and comes with a guaranteed prize pool of KRW 500 million (~USD 340,000). Furthermore, it is one of seven events that will award an APT Championship Main Event ticket to the eventual winner, which in this particular case will play out tomorrow, August 10.

During the most recent APT Taiwan festival in April 2026, the very same high-stakes contest attracted a field of 90 unique entries and 46 re-entries to generate a prize pool of TWD 40,666,960 (~USD 1,291,691). It was an all-Filipino duel for the title in the richest-ever APT Super High Roller at the Red Space Arena in which Mike Takayama prevailed against John Costinianoto claim the top prize of TWD 9,760,160 ( ~USD 312,825).

The 2025 edition right here in Incheon one year ago produced an 89-entry strong field, and Michael Foo from New Zealand lifted the gorgeous Pewter Lion APT Super High Roller Trophy. He claimed the top prize of KRW 319,292,500 (~USD 228,890), and the victory catapulted the Kiwi into the top fifteen of his country's overall ranking on The Hendon Mob. Late registration remains open until the end of the 75-minute dinner break after completion of level 11.
