Singaporean Dhanesh Chainani Follows Up Main Event Final Table with Victory in Micro Main Event for TWD 1,154,984 (~$36,240)
Singapore's Dhanesh Chainani, who came fifth in Main Event, has put his name in the history books of the TWD 11,000 Micro Main Event after he defeated United Kingdom’s Gregory William Campbell in the final heads-up duel and won the top prize of TWD 1,154,984 (~$36,240) together with the lion trophy.
Chainani scored in the crucial hand with jack-four against king-eight from Campbell. Chainani sent Campbell to the payout desk for runner-up purse of TWD 714,000 (~$22,400) with a turned straight.
Final Table Results
Day 2 got underway with 90 players, and it was Englishman Percy Chao who led the pack with 859,000 chips on hand after Flight A & B yesterday, but he did not keep up the momentum. Chao ultimately busted in 16th place and banked TWD 52,000 (~$1,630) with his ace-ten, which wasn’t enough to compete with pocket 8♠ from Chao Kun Liao.
The final table set a high pace ffrom the get-go and sent Mamiya to the rail in ninth with a payday of TWD 95,000 (~$2,980). Mamiya’s king-five didn’t receive any help from the board against Patni’s ace-five which flopped an ace and removed one seat from the table.
After the first elimination at the table, action slowed down and the chips were continuously moved between stacks for quite some time. Eventually, Patni became the next casualty as he jammed pre-flop from under -the-gun with ace-jack, but the board ran out Chainani’s way who spiked an eight for one pair and sent Patni in eighth with TWD 120,000 (~$3,765) in his bag.
Same hole cards did not always end up with the same fate as Sirimueanphon encountered another ace-jack from Campbell, but the runout gave Campbell a straight, sending the queen-four from Sirimueanphon in 7th place together with TWD 176,000 (~$5,536).
Right after the blinds increased, Waki had no choice but to shove all-in with his last 200,000 with three-duce and ran into cowboys from Chainani who lassoed the small pot successfully with a clean board and showed Waki the way out for a purse of TWD 241,000 (~$7,560).
Huang carried his ace-deuce to compete with Campbell’s eight-five, but destiny was set as he flopped an ace for the top pair while Campbell was favored by the runout of ace-deuce-three-four for a straight. Huang banked TWD 310,000 (~$9,730) and walked towards the exit.
Yu was sent home in fourth as he shoved all in with a king on hand; however, Chainani managed another scalp with his pocket jacks and hooked up the pot as the board came clean. Yu returned home with a cash prize of TWD 391,000 (~$12,270).
Liao phad much hope after flopping a four with his deuce-four, but never thought that Chainani flopped an eight with his eight-six which even improved to trips on the turn. Liao was sent to the rail but surely pleased with a TWD 510,000 (~$16,000) payday.
The final heads-up started between Chainani and Campbell. Campbell went all in after flopping an eight with his king-eight, but the board already decided who should be crowned as the champion. Chainani held a suited jack-four and matched up with three cards on the board to finish his flush, sending Campbell in second for TWD 714,000 (~$22,462).
Congratulations to Chainani for walking away with the top prize of TWD 1,154,984 ($36,240)!

Awws and Ahhss from Table 16
With only five tables left Kei Wing Ng was hoping for a double up when he picked up A♦ Q♦ in the hole. Jamming all-in for his tournament life, the player directly to his left, Chien Chiang Huang asked the dealer how much the at-risk player was all-in for.
After checking his own stack he called, waited for the rest of the players action, who all got out of the way, before he threw his cards face open showing the best hole cards in the game, A♠ A♥ . The young player stood up, ready to leave as he tabled his hands
The dealer flopped 2♠ 6♦ A♣ giving Huang a set and evoking from the players on the table a very audible "Awww" of sympathy for Ng. The J♦ gave Ng a nut flush draw this time eliciting a loud "Ahhhh" of hope and excitement from his peers. And with the 7♥ river, Ng made his exit to the background sound of another "Aww" from the table.
