From the cut-off Taiwanese Pro Nevan Chang opened with his 19 big-blinds and it folded around to John Matsuda in the big-blind who decided to put Chang all-in, covering him by a handful of big blinds. Chang seemingly was in his tough spot, but eventually decided to risk his tournament life at the bubble of the final table.

William Teoh Leads Final 12 Players in the APT Super High Roller

William Teoh

William Teoh is the Day 1 chip leader of the PHP 600,000 (~USD $10,300) APT Super High Roller. The Malaysian won a massive pot against second-in chips John Matsuda late in Day 1, putting him in a great starting position for Day 2.


A total of 59 entries (42 unique) led to a total prize pool standing at a mouth-watering PHP 32,621,100 (~USD $545,560) and the eventual winner taking home a PHP 9,785,100 (~USD $166,350) top prize.


Teoh accumulated a total of 3,550,000 in chips over the sixteen 40-minute levels played. A fourth place in this tournament would mean a career-high score for him. He achieved his best score at the 2022 APT Manila Championship which he finished in second position for PHP 2,797,700.

Vincent Huang

Second in chips with 1,770,000 finished the New Zeeland professional Vincent Huang. Throughout the day he could be seen chipping up nicely, never losing any huge pots. Closely following him comes seasoned pro Paulius Plausinaitis with 1,390,000. Other notable names making it to Day 2 include Jordan Westmorland (1,245,000), Nevan Chang (1,070,000), Thomas Ward (1,030,000), and Daniel Neilson (765,000).


Out of the 12 remaining players, 8 will make it to the money, but all eyes will be on the glorious Lion Trophy. For sure, it will be an action packed day which can either be followed on the live blog or via the live stream.

With around 100,000 chips in the middle, the board showed 7 4 7 A Q . Renji Mao bet 75,000 from the cutoff before Nevan Chang check-called from the big blind.

Mao turned over A T for turned two pair, making Chang throw his cards back to the dealer without showing.

Both saw a monotone flop of 8 7 J and checked through to see the 9 land on the turn, where the action went check-check again.

A 3 dropped on the river, and Lynskey checked the action to Chang, who changed his strategy and bet 12,000. Lynskey then raised to 75,000, but it didn’t defer Chang from dropping in a call.

Chang tabled an unbeatable flush with K 5 , leaving Lynskey no choice but to concede the pot.
