Verbruggen Delivers a Knockout Early

Level 11: 800 / 1,600 ante: 1,600

Dylan Lim raised to 3,200 from under the gun and received three callers, Tom Verbruggen from middle position, Emmanuel Segismundo from the hijack, and Kim Enriquez from the big blind.

Four players read the flop of 4 Q T , where Enriquez and Lim checked over and Verbruggen bet 6,000, which Segismundo shoved all in for around 20,0000 and Verbruggen only dropped in a call.

Tom Verbruggen: K J

Emmanuel Segismundo: A Q

Verbrggen picked up a flush draw, but Segismundo got a flopped pair of queens. Soon the dealer delivered a runout of 7 3 , which stood at Verbruggen’s side and sent Segismundo out of the tournament early.

Battle of the Big Stacks

Level 11: 800 / 1,600 ante: 1,600
Tom Verbruggen

On a flop of 5 8 9 , Tom Verbruggen, on the button, waited for Kim Enriquez to respond to his 17,000-chip bet. After some thought, Enriquez made the call.

The turn brought the 7 , and both players checked. On the 2 river, Enriquez passed the action again, prompting Verbruggen to fire a hefty bet of 90,000. This put Enriquez in a difficult spot, as calling would cut his stack in half if he lost. He carefully counted and separated chips, before finally making the call.

Verbruggen revealed K K , and with no answer for the kings, Enriquez mucked. Verbruggen scooped the pot, further strengthening his stack.
