Oshibuchi checked to Ogawa, who continued for 5,500 on the 4♣ K♠ 7♣ flop. Weng called, but Oshibuchi got out of the way.

Both players checked on the 4♠ turn, but Ogawa wagered 8,000 after the 3♠ completed the board. Weng called and Ogawa tabled 9♥ 9♠ for nines and fours.

Lucky Turn for Tsubota

Ryo Mikami opened to 5,000 from middle position and was three-bet to 15,000 by Xiaohua Fu in the cutoff. Koki Tsubota called cold from the big blind, but Mikami got out of the way.

The flop came K♠ 2♣ 8♥ and Tsubota checked. Fu continued for 15,000 and Tsubota tanked a while before moving all in for 16,000 total. Fu tossed in a call and a showdown was held.

Fu was well ahead with his jacks, but the Q♥ turn immediately paired Tsubota's queen to pull him into the lead.

The 7♦ river bricked out and Tsubota was awarded the double-up.

Abbas Pushes Chen Off a Pot

Amir Abbas opened to 4,000 from early position and Pete Chen defended his big blind.

Chen checked to Abbas, who continued for 5,000 on the 2♣ 3♥ 5♠ flop. Chen then check-raised to 12,500 and Abbas quickly called.

The 4♠ brought four cards to a straight on the turn and Chen checked. Abbas slid a bet of about 70,000 into the middle and Chen quickly let his hand go.

The Aussie grinder has been having a great day on the felt so far and currently sits with a well above-average stack worth approximately 305,000.

A three-way all in was already in progress, with Takamitsu Namiki holding the shortest stack from the hijack, Tomohiro Tanio holding the largest stack in the cutoff, and Soichiro Hayashi all in for about 80,000 from the small blind.

The Korean-American bracelet winner comes off the back of a strong summer, headlined by a third-place finish at the Wynn Summer Classic for $458,213, with further cashes at the WSOP Main Event and several bracelet events putting his recorded summer total north of $550,000.

With over $20 million in career earnings, Cheong sits fourth on Nevada's all-time money list and needs little introduction on the Asian circuit - he won the APT Jeju Zodiac Classic just 12 months ago and is no stranger to going deep in Korea.

The action was joined with initial-raiser Kijun Yoshida deliberating calling Tasuku Maruo's three-bet jam from the cutoff. Yoshida eventually folded, but hijack Koki Rokuka put in the call:

Final Two Flights of the Main Event Conclude Today

Flight C of the APPT Korea Main Event is underway soon at Paradise City Incheon, with the third of four starting flights getting underway at noon local time. Tonight's turbo Flight D at 7:30 PM will complete the opening days of the tournament before all survivors converge for Day 2 tomorrow.

The KRW 1,800,000 buy-in event carries a KRW 1,000,000,000 guarantee, equivalent to around USD 700,000. Players receive 30,000 starting stacks and registration remains open until the end of Level 11.

Tong Mu

Flight A sent 24 survivors through and Flight B added a further 30, meaning at least 54 players are already locked in for Day 2 with more to follow from today's two remaining flights.

Leading the combined field heading into Flight C is Tong Mu of the United States with 472,000, followed by Flight A chip leader Niko Schmitz of Germany with 382,000 and Hirofumi Uchida of Japan with 366,000.
