Matthew Russell of Australia opens from the +1 position for 600 and gets called by Ireland’s Patrick Clarke in the hijack, Gu Huidong of Macau, China in the SB and Vietnamese player Le Buu Nghia I the BB.

The flop shows 2♠ 2♣ J♥ as all four players opt to check. The turn is the 3♥ as Gu checks. Le now leads out for 1,500 as Russell folds. Clarke makes the call and Gu steps aside. It is now Heads Up to the river where the J♦ appears. Le bumps it up to 6,000 as Clarke tanks and consequently decides to fold.

Clarke’s stack drops to just over 10,000.

From the hijack, 2024 APPT Super High Roller champion Artem Vezhenkov of Russia opens for 800 and the action gets folded to the SB Vietnam’s Le Buu Nghia who 3-bets it to 2,600. Vezhenkov then moves all-in and gets called by Le.

Vezhenkov shows Q♥ Q♦ while Le holds A♥ Q♣ .

The flop is relatively safe for the Russian’s ladies: 5♥ T♣ 7♠ and when the turn arrives as the J♠ it began to look bleak for the Vietnamese player until the A♦ comes on the river and gives Le a double up off of the highly regarded Pokerstars online grinder.

Le is still on his original bullet.
