Hand #39: Julian Warhurst open shoves 440,000 (11 BB), called by Lester Edoc on the big blind. In for a flip, Warhurst's pocket pair holds on board 3♣ 3♥ 4♦ 5♥ 9♠ , and Edoc shoots down.

Hand #14: Gary Thompson opens from early position and remains unchallenged.

Hand #15: Dohwan Kim opens to 70,000 on the button and folds to a jam from Lester Edoc.

Hand #16: Yan Wen Yee opens and merits no callers.

Hand #17: Matthew Wakeman opens from utg, joined by Lester Edoc along with the big blind. On flop K♣ 4♣ 2♠ , Wakeman continues for 50,000, and Edoc calls. Turn 5♥ sees Wakeman send out 125,000, and Edoc gives it up.

The second key event of the APPT Manila Championship 2024, APPT Open, ran through its Day 2 games with the 61-survivor field down to its final nine players. Local pro Flo Campomanes closed the action with the lead, stacking a mighty 1,700,000 (68 BB) chip count onto the Final Day. Campomanes stormed up the ranks having secured a 100 BB pot off of Christopher Mateo by the last three tables. Gary Thompson follows just eight big blinds behind with 1,510,000 (60 BB).

Small blind Matthew Wakeman limp called a 51,000 raise from Lester Edoc behind and went on to check raise 100,000 on flop 6♠ 4♦ 9♥ . On turn K♥ , Wakeman led for 105,000 and snap called for his 179,000 behind after Edoc moved all-in. Edoc shows A♥ A♣ , crushed against Wakeman's turned two pair K♠ 9♦ , all the way through river 5♣ .

Lester Edoc defended his big blind against a 35,000 open from Florencio Campomanes and headed to flop K♥ 8♣ 2♦ . Edoc check called for 30,000, revealing turn T♦ . Both checked it through to river 4♦ where edoc led for 50,000, Campomanes with a fold.

Up against an early open, Lester Edoc pushed all-in and saw Stevan Chew behind, push likewise for 215,000. Initial raiser folds and the two run board J♣ 4♦ A♦ 6♣ A♥ . Window card instantly revealed Edoc's two outer, improving further to a full house for the win.

Christopher Mateo opened to 20,000, joined by three other players on flop 3♥ 2♥ 5♠ . Small blind Lester Edoc led for 30,000, followed by an all-in behind from Vladislavs Azans for 112,000 total. Mateo reshoves and Edoc folds. Azans shows 4♠ 4♥ , in need to fill up a straight against Mateo's 5♣ 3♣ . Turn J♥ and river Q♦ brick out for Azans, earning Mateo the boost. Edoc shows 6♠ 6♣ .

The money bubble just burst right before the day's first break with 46 players remaining in the running. Malaysia's Yan Wen Yee currently holds down the lead, being the sole runner above the 500K threshold. Action is set to play down to the final table.
