The second key event of the APPT Manila Championship 2024, APPT Open, ran through its Day 2 games with the 61-survivor field down to its final nine players. Local pro Flo Campomanes closed the action with the lead, stacking a mighty 1,700,000 (68 BB) chip count onto the Final Day. Campomanes stormed up the ranks having secured a 100 BB pot off of Christopher Mateo by the last three tables. Gary Thompson follows just eight big blinds behind with 1,510,000 (60 BB).

Florencio Campomanes opened to 60,000 on the button and folded after Justin Chu raised all-in for 500,000 more.

Having just lost a chunk of his stack, Justin Chu pushed all-in for his last 150,000, called by Matthew Wakeman. A huge favorite, Chu cruised to victory with no threats on board 5♦ 3♥ Q♥ 6♠ 6♦ .

Justin Chu open shoved 525,000 and was snap called by Lester Edoc on the big blind. A classic flip, board 9♥ 3♠ 5♥ 6♥ 4♠ ran dry, leaving Edoc's pocket pair for the win.

Facing a late position open and a call, big blind Finn Penderak pushed all-in for 285,000 (17 BB) and was challenged by initial raiser Justin Chu. Dominated, Penderak was in luck to find three clubs on board K♦ Q♣ 9♥ 2♣ K♣ to spare him from elimination.
