Nat8 cover 1

Action is underway at Natural8 with poker players from around the world taking part in the 2nd Edition of the Asian Poker Tour Online Series. With an ambitious $10 Million in prizes guaranteed, this marks the richest APT festival ever to be staged. Of the substantial 234 game lineup are six trophy-bearing events, three of them earning the winner an APT Championship Ring. Packing the biggest punches are the Main Event and the Championships Event each one guaranteeing a huge $ 1 million.

The festival kicked off on June 14 and is scheduled to run until June 28 inclusive. To date, 62 events have completed and well over $ 2.5 million paid out. Recent Natural8 High Roller MILLION$ champion, Lester “mon$terDad” Edoc, was awarded the first ring and later sealed a High Roller victory. Vietnam’s PatrikNguyen and Poland’s “relentless” were the first multi-winners. Value hunters had plenty to smile about with numerous games seeing an overlay. Read up on it in our early highlights.

The featured Main Event $1,000,000 GTD is currently ongoing. Reigning champion is Alex Wei Xiang Lee “DblBarrel” who won the first APT Online Series edition for over $ 91K.

Early Highlights

Opening day rolled out an impressive list of 16 games and over a million dollars on the plate. However, at around 11:30pm HKT, with 12 games still running, the server crashed leading to abrupt game cancellations. Among the events affected was the featured $200K GTD Mini Main Event with 151 players still remaining out of 3,532 entries. Lester “mon$terDad” Edoc, led the chase at the shutdown and was awarded the victory. He earned his third career APT ring having won his first two back in 2018.

The $500K GTD Opening Event also experienced the same fate with 26 players still on the hunt out of 1,559 entries. Natural8 player “propofol-san” was awarded the win. Had this game completed, the eventual champion would have landed the largest prize money of over $78K.

Both tournaments mentioned above were among the four events overlaid on opening day. The next three days would see more events join the list extending plenty of value to the players. It would be wise for value hunters to browse the schedule with over 150 games yet to be played.
