From Family Card Games to Professional Poker
My father taught me to play Rummy when I was still in elementary school, and long evenings of card games with my family sparked a lasting interest in the game. When the poker boom hit, I was still underage, but televised tournaments pulled me in immediately. As an adult, I spent four years playing poker professionally, mainly focused on Heads-Up Sit and Go, the format that suited my instincts and temperament best.
Writing From Inside the Game
Poker is now mostly a hobby for me, and writing has become my main focus, but the years I spent studying and playing different formats still shape how I write. I try to cover the balance between logic and instinct, discipline and adaptation, that defines poker at a serious level, from the perspective of someone who has actually played it for a living, not just studied it from the outside.
