The biggest festival in Asian Poker Tour history is making a splash this week as it plays through its KRW 1,300,000,000 (~US$ 1,000,000) guaranteed APT Incheon Main Event at the top-rated Paradise City Casino. The prestigious series runs for a total of five more days through September 3rd, attracting yet another outstanding turnout as players arrive to claim a share of the KRW 3 Billion (~US$ 2.3M) in prize pool guarantees.

The crown jewel of the 69 trophy event lineup saw its first two flights wrap up, recording a total of 430 entries and 176 players surviving through to Day 2. Another two, Flight C and Flight D remain on today’s agenda, both set to run on a faster paced 30 minute gameplay. Day 2 follows the next day at noon Thursday, August 31st with registration open right before the action starts.

Boasting more generous prize pools and its usual great structured events, the brand’s festivities are always a sure fire stop for regular Asian runners. This season’s Incheon leg is no different with several APT champions returning to the felt to claim a slice of the Main Event pie. The first two flights posed the advantage of playing longer blind levels with Flight A at 60 minutes, and B at a shorter 45 minutes.

Notable pros seen deep on the action and through to the next round include defending APT Incheon Main Event champion Farhad Aghayev, four time APT champion Dicky Tsang, Philippine crusher Lester Edoc, and APT record-largest winner Joseph Cheong. Also surviving the first ten levels of play are Uzbekistan’s Veleriy Pak (202,400), Malaysia’s Wai Kiat Lee (153,100), Hong Kong’s Sparrow Cheung (130,400), Chin Wei “Webster” Lim (104,800), and Natural8 ambassador Danny Tang (90,000).

However, by the end of the day it was Taiwan’s Yu Sheng Lin who racked up the largest stack across both flights with an enormous 246,500, about 27 big blinds ahead of Flight B chip leader Artem Sofronov. Yu tops the collected qualifier list and moves forward with an impressive 150 big blind stack heading into Day 2. Flight A big stacks China’s Zhu Nan and Singapore’s Adrian Boon Chye Chua follow shortly behind with equally healthy chip counts to top the ranks.
