Everything you need to know about the inaugural Crown Poker Series in Da Nang, Vietnam – VN₫ 14 Billion guaranteed – April 21 to 28

 

A new poker festival is about to hit the town! Crown Poker Series, created by well known Korean poker player Dong Hyun Kim aka Tommy Kim, is scheduled to take place from April 21 to April 28 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Da Nang, Vietnam. Find out all the details down below including Korean pros confirmed to attend.

The Crown Poker Series is the first poker event to be staged at the venue. The festival is powered by Lucky Poker Tour, featuring a Main Event guaranteed prize pool of VN₫ 10 Billion (~US$ 426,500) plus fourteen side events. Buy ins range from VN₫ 7,700,000 (~US$ 325) to the max of VN₫ 66,000,000 (~US$ 2,800). For the complete schedule, click on the link provided below or scroll to the bottom of the page.

Events with Guaranteed Prize Pools

In addition to the Main Event, two others also carry guarantees, the Opening Event and 8-Max High Roller, for a total of VN₫ 14 Billion (~US$ 597,150) in guaranteed prize pools.

The Opening Event kicks off the series, running from April 21 to 22. This is a great way to build your bankroll and pick up the first side event trophy of the inaugural series.

On the second day, April 22, the Main Event  gets on the floor, and continues through April 26. A total of four entry flights are scheduled. Buy in is higher than usual, coming in at VN₫ 44,000,000 (~US$ 1,875). This price tag tends to attract players with deeper pockets.

To close out the festivities is the 8-Max High Roller on April 26 to 27. This is the most expensive event of the series with buy in at VN₫ 66,000,000 (~US$ 2,800).

With the festival just one week away, many Koreans have expressed their participation. Among the latest is multi-decorated Soojo Kim who has only been seen at a few events in Asia (except in Korea) since the pandemic. On his facebook page Kim wrote “Many Koreans will go”. Other big names expected are Yohwan Lim aka BoxeR, Gab Yong Kim, and Kim Seung Yul.

Nature lovers have plenty to explore such as the gorgeous beaches, Marble Mountains, Dragon Bridge. Through the years, the city has grown in leaps with hotels lining its long shoreline.

To fly in, Da Nang has its own international airport which services numerous air carriers offering direct flights. To get around, it is easy to book a Grab, bikes and cars are available. Make sure to change your international currency as they only accept Vietnamese Dong.
