Day 1C & Day 1D Turbo Recap

Today’s festivities saw Grand Loyal Poker’s 38 tables filled with its share of local and international players vying for a spot to Day 2. Flight Day 1C’s 356-entry field played down to its remaining 45 players and wrapped up with Nguyen Vu Huy on top of the ranks. It took 10.5 hours before the qualifier closed into bubble time where local Dinh Duc Anh cracked a short stack’s AdAs. The Vietnamese hit a set on the river with 9h9s to win the pot and wrap up the day. Among those who made the cut are bracelet winners Abhinav Iyer and Kartik Ved, WPT champion Dave Erquiaga, and KMGM’s Lee Seok Young.

Its later Turbo edition, Day 1D on the other hand, bagged 185 entries with those busting from Day 1C claiming their last chance through. The last few tables saw Mystery Bounty second runner-up Pham Bao with a massive stack of around 900k until he lost half of it right on bubble time. The hand began with Le Cong Vuong opening from under the gun off of a 410K stack. Pham moved all-in and put maximum pressure on his opponent considering the relatively short stacks on the other tables. Le tank-called with KdKc and Pham revealed 9d5h. The board ran 8hQcJd5d4d awarding Le the humongous pot for the overall lead heading into Day 2.
